Comment:

Worst teacher I can say I have ever had. Feels as if she took on a large class load and bought the CCNA program and uploaded it as if her own work. Save yourself some money and buy the CCNA Learning Academy book and study.. much cheaper. She doesn't help at all and when asked a question replies as if she's bothered.

This beginner level course is one of the worst that I have ever taken. The professor is the worst I have ever had. She expects a lot out of her students and does almost nothing in return. I have two other degrees (with plenty of experiences) and can say this is an awful professor.

It is a tough class. Lots of hwk and tests. Read and go through notes. Lots of studying needed for exams. Good teacher. Cares about students. My first B, but it was my fault. Missed one of the two final exams. Not an easy A! Prepare to learn the material. I would try to learn IPv4, IPv6, and subnetting b4 the class, so it does not get too confusing

Comment:

Knowledgeable. Caring. Nice. Respectful. Strict, but fair. If she makes a mistake, she will admit it and make accommodations. Watch/read her lectures, read the textbook (NETACAD) and you will do exceptional. The course is not a easy A, but you can earn it. Tests rely mostly on NETACAD. Skills based exams rely on commands. She is very helpful. 9/10!

I have taken Ms. Cason for CET1600 and now CET1610 and I do not regret it. Ms. Cason is extremely caring and respectful. Though the problem is that she does 8 or 9 online courses, so her attention may not always be focused on the class. She does her best so everyone succeeds. She makes you work for the grade. You can get an A, but you can't not try

Don't be scared by most of these teacher ratings. I went in thinking she is not fair, but by the end of the class, I would love to take her again. Ms. Cason is a great teacher. She knows her stuff. She is fair, follow the syllabus and due dates and you will do fine. Also just know the commands and read the txt book now and again and you will pass.

Took online class, requires on-campus final test. Then you take the test at a computer in a testing center, so why do I have to come in? Special thanks from the people who have a full-time job, Prof. Curricula is disorganized, instructions are confusing and senselessly badly written (think mid-90s webpage designed by a just-learned-HTML kid).

Be advised that the "online" version of this class also requires you to physically go to the campus to take an exam. Part of the course is taught by Cisco and is very organized. The rest is an unorganized mess. You will spend a lot of time trying to figure out what is due next. This is NOT an "easy A" type of class.

She's great just study, study, study if you do the work and read her powerpoints after you read the online book (NETACAD) you will be fine just try and get all the work done asap. Also, use NETACAD read everything on there.

She appears to work too much and is stretched thin but tries her best to teach the course with the time she has. Her teacher aide Earl is really where i learned most of my stuff in class. Its not a class if your looking for an easy A. You have to study and put in a lot of work but the A is just that much sweeter to get.

Comment:

Plan on taking time on how the class works and how to get to things. Due dates for Tests are a little confusing. My grandmother passed away and it was a battle to get a 1 day extension for a test, are you serious? On top of that she applied a 10% penalty for it being late as she said. Review what she grades as I found many mistakes on grading.

I wish I had read these comments before taking this class. You DO learn this stuff on your own. Unfortunately I didn't learn the subnetting or ipv6 material fast enough and it hurt me on the final. There is also a ton of homework.

Took Prof Cason before and thought she was good. Took her for this class and she was horrible. Dates were confusing or not posted until after the assignment was due. Got a 0 on one test because the due date wasn't posted and I took the test a week after it was due. Would be doing HW for Chapter 10 and taking test for CH 7. Wont take her again.

She goes through the material very fast and it's very important to get a few key concepts as far as binary conversion and how ip addresses and subnet masks work in the first couple weeks or the rest of it will fall apart on you. You will need to study on your own outside class to understand the material, but overall it wasn't too difficult.

Absolutely expect to teach yourself the course. I cannot emphasize this enough. You are going to learn this on your own. I wish I had known this PRIOR to taking the course.Also, the group projects are dependent on your group, and others can and will pull down your grade. Expect to use wikipedia, youtube and the interwebs to teach yourself.
