Dr. Derrick is one of the sweetest professors. Let me retake the first exam when I went to her expressing my concerns about my bad grade. She cares about her students learning and not just the grade you receive in this class. Do not take this class one night a week! Take as a MWF course. There is so many tedious details that need to be remembered.

She's a nice professor, knows her stuff, etc. I was a little confused when she told me to take her grammar writing class because my papers were choppy. At the same time I was taking 2 writing classes and was achieving A's on all of them. She makes you write three papers, and they can be a bit tough, but overall an easy class.

It was a fun class. She's a good teacher, excellent with reasoning and logic. You break down the play and logically analyze them. You even act out a short play! It was fun, also somewhat easy... I remembered almost enough from just the lecture that I didn't have to study much. Shes ultra femenistic which gets old. The plays she picks reflect that.

Professor Derrick is wonderful! Her class is very interesting and informative. Extremely knowledgable on her subject. Lectures are upbeat and interesting. Your grade is determined by three essays: one on a comedy, one on a history, and one on a tragedy. Can be a heavy reading load at times, but Professor Derrick makes it worth it.

had her for 2 classes in my career. Had 1 b+ rest a's. Yet i never got higher than a c in her class due to poor attendance. I'm sorry, but if i can cut a's withtout showing up, then you have nothing to teach me. I paid my money to go to school. If i do so is up to me to decide. Why go when you are not teaching me anything new?

i HATED shakespeare before her class, now i actually understand him and enjoy reading it! She reads most of the reading assignments to you in class; nice, funny, very pessimistic about love! Takes attendance, but is mainly fun!

Even though I am an English major, Shakespeare has never been my thing. Dr. Derrick really makes it interesting and funny at times. I learned A LOT and would take her again and again! Only three papers and attendance for a grade. Seems tough but very reasonable. Just do your reading and participate a few times.

she made me love Shakespeare more than I did before. she is really passionate about her subject and you know she understands it more than anyone else. I love when she starts acting out the lines-- it's funny. plus, she has a very cutting and sarcastic sense of humor-- my kind of person.

Excellent teacher. She made Shakespeare enjoyable actually. She explains all of the plays and the papers are all opinions so if you back up your paper you'll do fine! Only 3 papers to write no tests or quizzes.
