Comment:
His syllabus has a bunch of due dates and things listed regarding the term research project, yet there is no description of his expectations for the content of the project or presentations. He always started lecturing before the class time was supposed to start and he always went over the scheduled end time.

I have had my share of bad professors at Marshall, but this guy puts all of the others to shame. I am a very good student and learning from this man is next to impossible. He should be fired immediately. If you are not a chemistry major, steer clear of this man and this class. If you are a chem major...may God have mercy on your soul!

He really take his work seriously, and proud to be have been his student. I've learnt so much from him. He may not be an easy going type of Professor but when it comes to work, he make time and help.

****!! Sucked in every possible meaning of the word. He knows chemistry, but he couldn't teach Lance Armstrong how to ride a bike... "Quizzes" were worth 20% of the total grade... He gave ONE pop quiz. If you happened to miss it, you lost out on 20% of your final grade. I missed... I got a D.

Norton is the worst professor ever. In class he simply reads off of the slide while you try to write all of it as fast as you can, then he goes on to the next slide. He treats students like they are stupid when they answer a question wrong. NOT TAKING HIM "WOULD BE A FINE THING TO DO". HARD TESTS

Norton is intelligent, but can't teach freshman chem worth crap. He needs to realize that reading from his power point really doesn't help us. He concentrated on ideas in the lecture, but then tested us on the math that was never explained. Don't take him for freshman chem! Take Price, he's awesome!

looks like crap, very ignorant, wants you to answer his questions but when you do he makes fun of you for giving a slightly wrong answer instead of encouraging you to answer more often. very unwilling to help, try to avoid him at all costs.

Dr. Norton is a good teacher. He really tries to get the students interested in chemistry. He always offers to help students when they need it. The only thing that I didn't like was having to scribble down notes from powerpoint, but on the other hand, the notes were right from the book.

Dr. Norton is truely a great professor. He expects a lot out of his students, but that's life. Dr. Norton encourages people to think outside of the box by engaging students with problems that modern medicine and genomics is trying to answer. Dr. Norton has lead many students to successfull research

This guy loves chemistry and nothing else - mainly because he's better at it than his students. His world is very small. Don't expect him to value you or show considertion or regard for any future you may be looking forward to. Hair looks like crawled out from under a rock and died on his head.

Dr. Norton is an good prof if you study hard. He is very intelligent and relatively laid back, although i can see where people would not like him. My personal opinion though is that he is not favorable for entry level chemistry, but entirely possible to excel with if applied to.

This man is the worst teacher I have ever had. He is really intelligent, but he is very arrogant and unwilling to help. He values "learning" over "grades", which is fine & understandable, but if you have a scholarship riding on anything, don't waste your time.

He is by far one of the worst teachers ever. I have never been so confused in my life. Sometimes when he is reaching up to grab things, his shirt lifts up and his pants sag so low you can see his sick whitey tighties. It's one of the sickest things I've ever seen. Horrible teacher.

He can’t teach an introductory level class. Lab reports are only worth 20% of your grade; the rest depends on midterm and final exam. He offers no study guide, no partial credit on exams, and his lectures are confusing. He explains nothing. If you don’t have ESP, don’t take this class.
