Hoovler assigns two books throughout the semester. Essays are based on those books and there are a couple more. She offers a lot of feedback and the stories about her husband are hilarious. I would take her again if I could I highly recommend her but you must stay on top of assignments

She is extremely helpful all she asks is that you do your part. You can tell she cares about her students and that she wants everyone to succeed. There is about 4-5 essays in a semester one being a research paper 5-10 pages long. Its not a difficult class if you do your work on time and not procrastinate.

I would definitely recommend taking this class, Hoovler is helpful and clear on what she wants in her essays. Lectures might sound really long but she lets you out early most of the time.

She is the best English teacher I have had. You will read write papers and enjoy lecture. She is very helpful. If you can take her class please do She brings excitement to her teaching and makes learning understandable. Just do not be late I have been fortunate to have this beautiful sweet spirited lady for two semesters in a row. English A1A

Overall I really enjoyed her class. She is clear with what she expects on every assignment. I am not good at writing papers and I managed to get a B in the class. I have no complaints about this professor.

The first couple of days in her class make you think that the semester is going to suck... but once you make it past the first few days you will find that she is a wonderful teacher and actually very entertaining... as long as you do the reading and do exactly what she wants when writing the essays, you will be fine..

Hoovler is a great professor , but you have to be prepared to out a lot of effort into your work to prove yourself. She isn't as strict as many teachers, but it's best to do just as she says. She stresses over the MLA format and gives you clear idea for what your papers should include. Great teacher,she may be hard but it'll be worth it in the end

Really helpfull teacher, she is extremely nice, and you really learn a lot if you show up to class and listen, not to mention do all the assignments just as they are assigned. Do the work, remain respctful, and keep and open mind. Mrs. Hoovler is the best teacher have had at ECC by far. I highly recommend her class. A+

took her for English 1A she was a pretty good teacher even though she got an attitude with me because I told her I was going to be late to class because I had a meeting with ny counselor but other than that she's fair she grades the papers real hard she catches every mistake so be prepared if you came from previous English teachers who psyched you out to believe you were a good writer haha I highly recommend

I love Ms. Hoovler! She is a great teacher. Attendance is not that mandatory as long as you turn in all the essays on time. You do have to work for your grade. There were 4 major essays due, the biggest are a compare/contrast paper and a research paper. She is very nice and funny. i would def recommend her.

very open minded and curious professor. wanders off subject a lot. great teacher though. learned a lot but she kind of grades a little harder than i thought she would. make sure you ask her a lot of questions! and use all the resources she gives you, they really help
