Comment:

At first, Paul can be very intimidating for some; however, his lectures are a breath of fresh air in a growing "sheltered" post secondary system. His views tend to gravitate towards the left, but this does not severely impact the amazing lectures he gives! Would definitely recommend this prof!

Paul is excellent. Had him for Human Diversity in Canada last year and this GenEd course this year. Passionate and provides consistently excellent and relevant examples to the topic we're learning. For breadth courses, TAKE NOTES. So many students were shocked about the amount of writing on the first test, just know your stuff and you're good

I enjoyed Paul's class. That said, he is a complete lefty. Expect to hear him rail against conservative views and about how evil the white man is. By the middle of the semester, it became quite comical. Unfortunately, even though many of his views can be proved factually incorrect, you can't call him on it as he is grading your paper!

Paul is very passionate about the material, rare to find these days. His course challenged me to think critically and gave me a lot better perspective on the lot of the issues we face today. Feel free to talk and debate in his class, he encourages it and is very approachable. This course has been the best elective that I have taken to date.

Paul is one amazing professor. I had him my first year of the GAS program in oakville for sociology I then took a politics class with him (not even liking politics just liking him) I ended up doing extremely well in his politics class. He is extremely thorough, helps if you need it, and pushes his students (if they actually want to succeed)

What a great professor Paul is. He is very helpful, if you ask for help you will ALWAYS get his full attention. Strict on attendance and tardiness (how is should be). Wrote the textbook, everything he talks about is straight out of the book. Super animated guy and opinionated.

Paul taught me some piddly sociology class, something about surveying I think, I remember nothing of the course and think it should stay that way, Paul however I'll never forget. His course was a slap to the face that gave me more general common sense than any class room ever could. Paul isn't a professor, he's an experience.

Paul is absolutely insane! He rants about everything you could have an opinion about, with thorough proof behind all his opinions. You'll either love him or hate him, but you just can't argue with him. Remember, though you think your right, he's been teaching for 20 years, any argument you can come up with, he's heard a dozen times before.
