Class is okay. Speech is hard to understand. Test are difficult. 2 exams and a final. He does give the questions the class before the exam, but he wants specific answers. 10 summary/critiques. class is spent sitting listening to a student read the chapter.

You may find his writing & speech hard to understand, but he goes off of the book. For the tests, wants very specific answers (gives you the Q's beforehand) & will mark you down heavily on errors. If you are having a hard time go to his office hours & he'll help you out a lot. If you show that you're trying he'll give a really good grade bump.

If you're to take philosophy just to get some quick and easy Humanities credit then this professor is what you're looking for. He'll take of 5-15 if you have random words missing. So PLEASE, do yourself a favor and seriously MEMORIZE the answers to the test questions (he'll give you the question before the test). If you do that, its an easy A.

There are 5 homework assignments. Meet his writing minimum. His lectures can be very dry and hard to understand, but when I started seeing him in office hours and asking questions after class, he is really caring and gives great feedback. There are three tests. He is very passionate at teaching. Give him a chance!

His handwriting is completely illegible. His lectures consist of one student reading out of the textbook the whole entire class and him stopping every so often to point something out. The textbook is interesting though and an easy read. He gives you the exam questions before the exam. Overall, come to class, do the homework and you should get an A

Lectures feel super long because he tends to pick a student in the front or someone who brought the book to class to read the chapter(s) aloud. Which sucks, because having some random student reading aloud is boring and most of the time you can't hear. His handwriting is hard to read, and he is hard to understand. Lots of HW. Need the book for HW.

Really kind professor. His lectures are interesting but can be difficult to understand. Just ask him to clarify if he will. Grades easy and not too much work and research needed for the papers. Tests are easy as well if you just read a bit.

He grades based on how close your answers are to what is written in the book, it's not "random" grading as some other comments mentioned. I got an A. Go to class because this when he announces all assignments, test questions, and he gives you all the answers. Class consists of him or a student reading the book out loud the entire time, that's it.

This class was relatively easy. 5 written assignments, 2 midterms, 1 final. He gives you the questions to the midterms and final beforehand, so you exactly know what would be on the tests. All readings are from the book... but he basically reads to you in class. It it sometimes hard to understand what he is saying, as well as his handwriting too.

Waste of time class. I got a B in this class which lowered my GPA and should have gotten an A. He grades randomly so it doesn't really matter how good your papers or midterm answers are. There were 5 easy papers, 2 midterms, and a final. He'll go over the answers to everything if you ask him.

One of the most boring classes I've ever taken. Lectures are hard to pay attention to and it's hard to understand him and his handwriting. He has 10 easy hw assignments and 3 essay exams. He gives you the questions beforehand, and he'll even give you the answers he's looking for. Just follow everything he says and you should be fine.

About 5 essays assigned for the semester (easy). Paying attention in lectures is not required (smartphone or nap time). He gives midterm/final exam questions beforehand (super easy). Although he does have a speech impediment problem, he is a nice guy. Overall, an easy teacher and an interesting mind boggling PHIL class. [by civil engr student)

He is a really nice guy who lets you turn in your paper late if you tell him you forgot to do it. Hard to understand and hard to read his handwriting. Midterms are easy if you write the answer to the essay the night before and study it Go to his office before the exam he'll hint the ?'s that will be on the midterm to you so you know what to study

Nice guy but it is difficult to understand him. It is strongly recommended to sit near the front in order to hear him and see his hand writing. He gives the questions before the midterms and final. It is all memorization and understanding the materials to do well. All his tests are essay writing.

Very insightful person & has a sense of humor that I appreciate. But his speech impediment may frustrate you if you're not patient or if you decide to sit in the back rows. His exams are all essay-based & he gives out the questions beforehand. I kind of wish he'd just assign us take-home exams since we end up trying to memorize answers anyway.

Warning: He has an extreme speech impediment that makes paying attention much more difficult. That said, he's a really nice teacher with a good sense of humor, and grades leniently on homework/papers (not so much on tests).
