Awesome! can be boring at times but if you actually pay attention to his lecture instead of being lulled to sleep by his voice he is very interesting. During office hours he's incredibly helpful and just fun to talk to. This guy knows his stuff.

Bushnell is one of the BEST professors at IWU!! take him ANY chance you can. i hated history before coming to college and he made me LOVE it. his lectures are boring sometimes but he's such a nice guy that its impossible not to like him. I barely read any of the texts & i got an A in the class. put in effort, go to class & ull get a good grade!

I love this man, but yes, lectures are so amazingly, inescapably boring. However at the end of the semester you realize the class was pretty easy and yet you learned a ton from a Prof. that has a ton of firsthand knowledge of his subject. Plus he is a sweetheart!

Bushnell is so nice. As a history professor, even he himself is such a history. He has been on campus ever since 1966. Rumors abt his retirement have been around for ages, but he's still teaching. In a book about the Nashville sit-ins there was even a picture that has young Bushnell in it. He loves his students and really cares. Bibliomaniac too.

Class was EXTREMELY easy, but also pretty boring. I'm a history major, and this stuff was still pretty boring. He switches up the paper (from 5 pgs to 8, and didn't assign it until a week before it was due) but the tests are really easy essays. Basically come to class and stay awake and you'll get at least a B

Bushnell is extremely boring. His lectures are basically going over the same exact stuff that you read. The class isn't hard, and he is a really easy grader. The tests are strictly essay, and he just likes people to list a lot of facts. The class is kind of annoying though because he is so dull.

The very same rambling that's complained about is the best part about this guy. If you want to actually learn, this is the teacher to take classes from. If you came to college to drink and stare at the wall all day... you should probably not take any history classes. That said, his tests require you to not summarize in the slightest.
