Comment:
Pros: Excellent teacher. Clear lectures. Cares about topics. Willing to work with students. Quiz answers mostly online. Exams based of quizzes. Can pass with about 2/3 reading done (between text books and articles). Fair grader. Allows study guide and 1 page notes for exams. Only 2 exams. Cons: Excessive reading. More reading. Even more reading.

Geck is a great professor. He mainly lectures in class and you have a few discussions as a class which are very engaging. He listens to all sides, allowing a real conversation and/or debate to take place. Typically the answers to his multiple choice take home quizzes are on the internet. I rarely opened the textbook for those and passed. 10/10

Good teacher. He expects a few assignments every week but they are not difficult if the reading is done. Tests are pretty easy and he gives plenty of opportunity for extra credit. Likes the cold war era and starwars.

Geck is a doofus but a pretty chill guy. He knows his stuff and you can tell he enjoys teaching it. There is a fair amount of homework, with something due almost every class, but none of it is overwhelming or very difficult. Show up, stay on top of the reading and the homework and I can't imagine you would get anything other than an A.

Tons of extra credit and second chances, he is usually pretty lenient with late work, especially in the beginning and end of the course. Tests are directly based off of homework assigned earlier, and class lectures are all posted online. He usually goes over upcoming assignments and reminds the class of things that are soon to be due.

This was by far my most favorite class. Before this class I found U.S. History absolutely boring. He is an amazing teacher! the tests are completely based on the worksheets. Take his class!

So at first, he seemed a bit brash, but you get used to his humor, and he tries to make his teaching meaningful and and loves to answer questions. There is a fair bit of homework, but tests and quizes are a cinch. He goes pretty fast in his lectures, so I would HIGHLY recommend photocopying his lecture slides.

Really awesome teacher! He comes off as kind of gruff at first, but he's really super nice. His class is pretty easy as long as you do your work and turn in homework. Highly recommend!

FOR ABOUT THE FIRST TWO WEEKS, HE CAME OFF AS KIND OF A HARD ASS, BUT AFTER THAT HE EASED UP. I THINK HE JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE PEOPLE WHO WEREN'T GOING TO PUT FORTH AN EFFORT, WOULD LEAVE. HE IS A FAST LECTURER, SO IT'S IMPORTANT TO DO THE READING TO KEEP UP. I LOVED HIS CLASS BECAUSE HE MADE HISTORY EXCITING AND INTERESTING.

His lectures are really interesting and well organized. He is a fair grader and his tests don't hold any punches or try to trick you. You do have to do weekly readings and write responses to what you read but it is not very difficult and you learn a lot. He is a great teacher, is very enthusiastic about the subject and the class is enjoyable.
