Dr. Halpern was an extremely fun professor. I thoroughly enjoyed his class. If you are interactive with Dr. Halpern, his classes are even better. I sometimes feel that he feeds off your energy so the more enthusiastic and involved, the better. Finally, he's a really smart and kind individual. I wish I could have had another class with him. :)

Going to his class is like to waste my tuition. He goes over only three problems per lecture, at most. If you don't like physics or just want to get over with it, there you go. I took honor physic and E&M physics HS, and I think it was interesting and I loved it. But his class is boring, awkward and supper slow. He makes me hate physics.

very smart guy, goes through material very fast and sometimes doesn't explain every step of a problem but has no prob going back and explaining if you ask. very fair, gives you a very good idea of what will be on exams, decent amount of extra credit available too. overall good prof just hard material

Would rather look at the internet than help you during office hours. A ball of spit forms at his mouth when he talks, thats about the only interesting thing about him. The final youll probably fail (even if you get A's on the rest). Dont expect to be his star student, he doesnt know anyone in the class and loves to stare at walls. Avoid him.

He's a nice man, willing to help anytime, gives you lots of examples in class, and is a bit crazy like dressing up for Halloween. He just doesnt know how to explain his thoughts and often contradicts himself in lectures. The tests are poorly written and can be graded unfairly. Just be careful!

first of all...he is not the best teacher at USP..2nd.it doesnt have to do with being an intelligent or unintelligent student. Not everyone can understand Physics unless the professor teaches with clarity and Halpern does not do this.

This class is very easy! I easily got an A+ by studying the night before a test in the summer. Halpern is a nice and easy teacher! There are just too many unintelligent students at USP.

Make sure you do well in the final! If you don't, your grade will drop! I think Halpern explains material better than Brunner. His tests are not hard, but watch out for the final exam! No or not much curve though. Funny and soft-spoken guy.
