Paul Lauren was one of the best professors I've ever had. He was kind, thoughtful, and absolutely brilliant (not a word I use lightly). Taking his class literally changed my life, and have the highest regard for him.

A demanding class but he is very clear about expectations and the lectures are very organized so its easy to take good notes and focus your studying. He analyzes different perspectives and leaves room for your own opinions. Always the diplomat.

The best prof i've ever had. An A- is euphoric after his exams. Take extreme notes. Best lecturer hands down. He's always under control in class. Personally, you can talk to the man about anything. You find yourself wanting to make him proud. In his office more that anyone in the department. His classes are not easy, but he grades fair. Focus&Excel

Lauren is a fantastic lecturer. His exams were challenging, requiring more preparation than any other history class. I took 4 classes from him 1983-1986. He wasn't perfect though. When asked in 1985 if he thought East & West Germany would ever reunite, he replied "Oh no, absolutely not". Oops.

A good prof, but easily one of the most egotistical I have ever encountered (and with this profession, that's saying something). Assigned a Tom Clancy piece of schlock for a 400 level class, which is ridiculous, and most of the other texts were mediocre as well. If you act like every word he utters comes from the Burning Bush, you'll be fine.

I took Professor Lauren's International Diplomacy class nearly 10 years ago. After spending the last 4 years working internationally and now pursuing graduate studies in international affairs, his class was outstanding preparation for understanding world history. I look back on my undergraduate studies and recognize his class to be one of the best.

He teaches you to realize that in every great event, there is a humane factor. People not only die during war, but many fight in it, too. He guides you to realize motivations and etc.
