Comment:

A total doll. The work is easy and honestly fun. I hate public speaking but Karen makes it fun and different. She is probably the most caring person you will meet and will do anything for anyone. I would highly recommend a class with her or even just a visit if you are having troubles with other unrelated classes.

Dr. Johnson-Weiner is a great professor. She is able to apply so many interesting examples to the material which I believe really helps when exams roll around. She is great with office hours and she really is just the most adorable and funny woman I have ever had teach me before. Definitely take a class with her if you can. You wont regret it!

I adore her! Her passions rub off on her students. She knows how to communicate with her class and she is very helpful and takes time answering questions. She's funny, a little intimidating, but that's because she's so wonderful.

Dr. Johnson-Weiner is such an inspiring professor. She has enthusiasm like no other, in and out of the classroom. She is brilliant and has tremendously improved my writing skills. She has always provided me with straightforward answers and has always been quite clear about her expectations. I would recommend her classes to any anthropology student!

Dr. Weiner is a brilliant professor. She is enthusiastic and hilarious. If you take the time to study and talk to her about anything that you don't understand, you will do well. It's a fun class and the labs are pretty fun as well. I definitely recommend her classes!

Assigns more work for a 100 level class than most upper division classes. Very tough grader and I disagree with most of the grades she gives. Many other students agree and it's not because we're lazy. I would not recommend taking her class unless you are seriously interested in the subject.

Dr. J-W seems to have earned a bad rep from other students on here, but I assure you that she is fully dedicated to her students. Yes, the material is difficult, but she encourages you to ask questions, and she makes herself available to help those who are dedicated to the class. If you receive a low grade, you're the only one to blame.

Dr.J-W is getting a bad rap on here probably from people who are unmotivated nor care about her class. She is a tough grader but EXTREMELY FAIR AND VERY HELPFUL. She's always available for outside office hours to help students. The material is difficult but IF YOUR MOTIVATED YOU'LL DO WELL

Awful teacher. Very scatterbrained and unclear in everything that she's saying She's also very inconsistent in grading. She'll mark one person's answer right and yours wrong. Very nitpicky and if you ask her to clarify, she will just point to the board and repeat herself, without helping at all. I don't think teaching was her first career choice...

I'm confused by the negative comments. Johnson-Weiner is a very clear, fair, accessible teacher. Her sense of humor is great as well. Her class was fascinating and I was slightly tempted to take more linguistics classes. Then I remembered- I don't like linguistics, I just like this professor.

A very negative attitude, acts like she is a great person and then BAM! Early Alert time and you have a 1.5 When you talk with her about it she is short and before you know it your Overall Avg for the class is a 2.0 and she asks you to do a year end review. Well here it is, You suck!
