Not clear of what he wants out of his students. In my lessons I felt as though he did not care about his job or me getting better as a student. Very unorganized, and does not even run a studio class. He knows a lot about music, but getting that information out of him is way too hard then it needs to be.

I had Niemo for lessons and band. In lessons he was constantly challenging me to push my limits, and yet it was easy to get an A. For band, he is a good conductor, if a little clueless at times. He likes to encourage student initiative, is willing to accept lots of new ideas, and is a kind and caring individual. He also was the one professor in the

i was in norseman band with him. he did not motivate anyone to play, and we just went through the pieces, not really paying attention to anything. nice guy, very melancholy. i miss passion from my band directors...

Brass Class... easiest class EVER. Nemo (ahem, Dr. Niemisto) is a fun guy... loves his trombones. Is MORE than supportive to anything brass at Olaf, which I appreciate, but brass class - I learned more talking to a trombonist for a half hour. Easy A, kinda disappointing.
