Comment:
Paul Schoofs is a G. He is the reason Ripon College has the number 15 economics program in the nation. He is easily the toughest grader on this side of the Mississippi. His theory on the all-knowing economist in the sky is legendary. Passing his class is something only pure legendary creatures can accomplish.

The class isn't too hard, but you definitely need to read and study every night. He usually only assigns a couple of pages a night. Always be prepared for his pop quizzes. Also, his exams are all essays, which I actually think ended up helping my grade in the end. Overall a pretty good professor!

this is economics of professional sports so it's a heavily dominant male class. It is set up in a discussion style setting where participation can determine the different between letter grades. Schoofs is a tough but honest grader. Don't take if your looking for an easy A.

Prof. Schoofs is the best. He's nice, funny, and he expects a lot of from his students. People don't like him if they are bad at school, because he doesn't put up with any gruff.

Paul Schoofs is the worst professor I have ever had for Economics. I have spent almost a half hour every other day in his office, attempting to pass his Managerial Economics class. He purposely makes you feel small and insignificant when you ask for help and his expectations are too high and he provides no guidelines of how to complete assignments.

He grades really hard. All of his tests are essays which I found unfair because everybody writes differently. On one question I memorized the definition right out of the book and got a 3/5 on it. I went in and talked to him and he said you had the write answer but I felt you could have explained it more. The question was to define the term.

Amazing class. The professor is VERY commited. Best Economics teacher I've ever had, as well as the best teacher in my college experience. He lives the class, and extends learning outside the classroom. really kNOWS the subject, and is interested in transfering the knowledge. He is so smart sometimes he "flies above the class"...let him know!

Paul Schoofs is a hard one to rate. On the one hand, he is the best Economics teacher I've had yet. Clear, through, detailed. On the other hand, he is a horrible tester. It is not enough that you that you put down the correct answer; you must literally reproduce the material from the book and lecture, to the letter, in order to get positive scores!

Class can get somewhat tedious at times; a lot of the first two months is review of things learned in Micro. Also asks far too many trick questions related to similar terms.
