Comment:

Schulman's writing assignments are unclear and he grades them harshly. The midterm and final exams are timed in-class essays that require rote memorization(ugh). He gives out a lengthy review sheet for each exam, but most of the contents of the exams are not covered by the review sheet. I really loved his lectures and thoughtful commentary.

Paul is a wonderful, caring teacher. Some of his classes are not the most exciting (I've taken almost all of them), but you learn a lot. His classes are rigorous, but he is clear about his expectations.
