so boring, goes through the slides so fast you don't have time to write down notes, talks about things unrelated to course material.

Wouldn't take a course with him unless no better options. Lecture slides and textbook information/ definitions are completely different from one another and this makes testing challenging if it's based on a specific definition. Exams are straightforward multiple choice but questions can be difficult and vague.

Pretty good professor, goes through slides way to fast its hard to keep up and sometimes know what he is talking about. Very fair on tests and sticks to what you learn (occasional question on lecture only material)

This class is pretty much JUST reading the text book. Nothing you learn in class is different at all. You can get a decent grade with out even attending the class..

He was a little all over the place in lectures and the slides were confusing, don't even try to take class notes because he goes way too fast just pay attention and go over them when he posts them. For tests, be sure to understand concepts not just memorizing the definition in the text. Class specific questions in the exam, overall good prof.

Overall is a good prof, does not get off topic as much as others say. Nice guy and knows what he is talking about. You need the textbook, Intro is test heavy and multiple choice only.

Very very boring. 50 minute class felt like 2 hours. No idea what he was talking about all term and his slides are brutal. Only thing that saved me was reading the textbook. You definitely need the text for this course as the exam has questions from there as well as his terrible lectures. DO NOT take this course if you don't need to m

A very nice guy who cares about students. Lectures are fairly unclear and disorganized. Testing isn't too difficult but also reflective of the lectures.

Very boring lectures... it can be hard to stay focused when he talks. Super anxious guy with minimal social skills. Not very approachable. He's super smart and he knows his stuff but doesn't teach it very well.

Funny and nice guy but i found his notes to be unorganized and boring. His tests are also nothing like the notes and the questions were always worded strangely. Overall good guy but wouldn't take it with him again

Professor Trapnell is a very funny, laid back, goofy individual; but as a professor I would not recommend him. He is very unorganized and his lectures were very hard to follow as he would get off topic and ramble on about random topics that are irrelevant to the course material. The tests were very different to the textbook practice tests.

Found his lectures very difficult to follow; I thought they were unorganized and unclear of what they were trying to convey. Lectures were okay, not terribly exciting but not completely boring either. I do know others who loved his teaching style, but it was not for me.

He's a funny & approachable guy, but not a good prof. SO hard to take notes cause he flies through, but he posts slides on his site so just go to class & pay attention or don't go at all & you can walk away with a B. Most of his exam q's come from the textbook anyways. Shows TONS of movies and literally always finds a reason to talk about astronomy

He is a bad prof. I was in his class, and could never keep up with his notes on the PP because he would speed through them and would never post them online. The day before the midterm he shows us a movie! Doesn't tell you what is on the midterm or how to prepare, horrible prof. Go to ANY other class but not his, unless you want to sleep in class

Wonderful human being - but his one flaw is disorganization. If you stay on top of Prof. Trapnell, then you'll find his classes are both enjoyable and easy. He also has a wealth of knowledge even if it at times comes out in rather uncategorized ways.

Going to his class was like pulling teeth. Lectures for the most part were boring, extremely disorganized, and frivolous. Although, to Trapnell's credit, he is a very nice, approachable man who is always willing to help. Overall though, a very disappointing class.

Great prof! A tad unorganized and would get off topic sometimes, but his stories would always be relevant to the lecture of the day. Really enjoyed his class, and super approachable. Exams were pretty good too, very straight forward.
