At first, you will think that the class will be terrible with the puns he tells all lecture. Little do you know, it will grow on you and you will end up laughing and LOVING lecture. Be ready to do your 3 packs due before the tests that will take you about 10 hours to do if you do them well. Do them well though and your grade on the test goes up.++

I am going into nursing and his class still is the most work/busy work I've ever had in a class. honestly just takes up too much of your time. id rather take a class that is more difficult than this one with less work.

LOTS of note taking on sporadic lectures. You will need to know everything for tests, and packets for homework assignments. There are plenty of extra credit opportunities, but it will get overwhelming. Keeps laminated pictures of pigs in barrels for puns.

The class was absolutely amazing, outside the class was not. I think I spent around 100 hours outside class doing busy work for this class. If you can survive the busy work, the class is an easy A. You are allowed to use notes on your tests, so that's a big plus!

He gives entirely way too much work. He lets you use your own notes and he gives you sections out the book that he may have test questions on but by the time you do them youve pull an all-nighter a week at a time. Tests and extra credit is the only thing your grade rides on. Take it from me, and dont sign up for his class. YOU WILL REGRET IT!

Comment:

Professor Winston certainly likes telling corny jokes, my advice is to find a way to laugh at them. He isn't bashful about his political beliefs, but I expressed disagreement and always felt respected even when we disagreed. He is a fairly easy grader and offers loads of extra credit, as well as a cheat sheet for tests. Overall, nice class.

Spends the majority of class time bashing Republicans and preaching his Socialist agenda. To his credit he does know the subject well but doesn't spend much time on it. 35% of class spent on bad puns. Doesn't know when to end a class discussion to get back on topic. Exorbitant amount of book work. Lots of extra credit. Would probably recommend.

Great teacher, really helped me to understand the system of American Government. Definitely gives out a lot of homework which can sometimes be overwhelming but is understanding and forgiving if he knows you're putting in the effort. Lectures are great and there are tons of extra credit options. 10/10 would take again.

Comment:

Winston was a very funny and outgoing instructor. He has a lot of jokes but also has a lot to teach. If you take very organized notes, you should be fine for the tests. Take advantage of ALL the extra credit he offers, there is a lot. The tests were difficult for me, but they are based off his lectures not much from the text book. Take good notes!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. This teacher is terrible. Lectures are very unorganized.. 10% is spent going over material and 90% is spent cracking jokes that are stupid and inappropriate. His grading makes no sense and he gives an unreasonable amount of homework. You can use your notes on the test, but most of the questions don't even come from the notes.

Good teacher, and gives a million opportunities to get extra credit, including just doing a good job on the work you're assigned. ALL your exam questions come from the class notes and the work you put together in to a pack, used on the exam. Lectures get corny with an unreal amount of jokes, easy class, lots of busy work though. Grades lightly.

This man is a terrible teacher. He is rude to his students and assigns an inordinate amount of work. His lectures are terrible-only spends about 25% of the time giving actual material, the other 75% if class time he spends cracking terrible jokes. I get the feeling he's only a teacher so he can have a captive audience for his comedy act.

MUST TAKE, professor Winston was the best professor I've ever had!! I had the pleasure of taking his class this past fall semester and it was so enjoyable! I looked forward to his class because he made it fun and interesting. The information he taught actually stuck with me and made me a more active citizen!!

He preaches his own liberal agenda and tries to practically shove it down your throat. It sucks that he's always bashing the republicans in his lectures. You can't understand any of the work he gives out because the papers are in his handwriting and photocopied.
