Paula is just incredible. Be warned- this isn't a class to take if you're not going to put in any effort. She's not a difficult teacher but does expect a certain level of participation. Always willing to meet outside of class and is more than generous with redos and extra credit. Not enough room to talk about how wonderful of a teacher she is!

Paula is probably the best professor I have had at U of M. She is the most caring woman, and wants every single student to do well, to the point that she gives us so much extra credit. She is always willing to meet with students after class, and gives the opportunity to repeat assignments you didn't do well on.

Paula has been my favorite professor during my whole college career. She is an overall great person and is very passionate about ASL. She is an easy grader as long as you put a little effort into assignments. To say something about her character, at class parties she brings sugar free candy for me because I'm diabetic! Very thoughtful!

I really can't say enough about this professor and this course. She is not a tough grader, but she expects effort and participation. She will not be afraid to call you out if you are always late or never prepared. I really enjoyed taking this course - without all the stress, it was fun and I learned a lot. She is a great person and professor.

Paula is simply amazing. A very hands on professor who enjoys teaching ASL. Classwork/homework is manageable and make sure you prep for the exams. Having a partner can be very helpful. Overall, wonderful class and great professor!

Let me start this off by saying that I like Paula as a person. But as a teacher, don't expect to learn much unless you're really good at self-motivating. She's far too easy on students, and the class is a blow-off. If you want an easy lang req, take it. If you want to actually learn ASL, try a community college

Paula is great. She's dedicated and knowledgeable about the subject and clearly loves what she does. Easy grader, but tends to get defensive if people don't make an effort. She gets off on tangents easily, but I still think I'm learning a lot. She isn't tech-savvy and you may have to email a few times before getting a response. Ask early for recs!

The class is very reading heavy but it was interesting. She's very passionate about the topic and that keeps the class engaged. She grades extremely easily, I don't think anyone got less than a 95% in the class. There's one poster presentation that takes about 10-15 minutes to put together.

I had Paula for 2 years and I thoroughly enjoyed learning from her. While she can be defensive at times, she is a great teacher with extensive knowledge. The workload was totally manageable. I am going to miss this class!

Extremely nice and funny. Even though you have 2 hours lecture but it doesn't feel like 2 hours because you're constantly signing in this class. Not a difficult class to get an A. She understands that you have classes that can give you heavy workload so her class workload is very light which is nice.

Paula is a very nice person, but she becomes easily defensive & is very unprofessional. 3rd & 4th levels of this class are filled with wasting time by talking about random things & more help should be given with the work as newer signs are no longer being learned as before. You probably won't have a problem with her, but just be a little cautious

She is the most dedicated professor I've had yet here at Michigan and its obvious she really cares about the state of the DEAF WORLD. She is also very easy to work with if you had problems getting a passing grade in this course you probably arent Michigan material! WORD EM UP
