It's been 15 years since I graduated UNF and she's the professor I remember most. I hope she's still teaching. She was very tough and picky, but outstanding. I went on to become a newspaper reporter and the editors and copy desk staff every place I've worked comment how thoroughwell-written my stories are. I've been successful because of her.

Teaching style is fine, but if you need to talk to her outside of class then FORGET IT. Does not respond to email or voicemail. Extremely frustrating if you have her for your internship!!!!

This class is said to be really hard, but in all honesty it was not. The tests are all straight forward and as long as you actually study, you should do fine. This professor does the lecture and she was awesome. She definitely knew her stuff.

Comment:

Professor Neimeyer is a great teacher. She is funny and knows exactly what she is talking about. I highly suggest you take her as she explains everything to the point. Also for your lab teacher, choose Gibbons. He's funny and makes the lab courses much more interesting and fun. Good luck!

The class is difficult, you really have to study the style book for the quizzes. Neimeyer is so fun though. She makes the class interesting and keeps you entertained. The lab is pretty fun too. You'll learn a lot in the class.

If you are not a journalism major this professor will instantly have a reduced interest in assisting you. While a really interesting and enthusiastic person, expect criticism and preference for students from day one. She also has a double standard in what she expects from students versus what she herself supplies. DO NOT TAKE IN THE SUMMER.

The course is basically all about grammar. Neimeyer is enthusiastic, so she keeps you entertained. I learned a lot. The professor lets students bring in three pages of notes front and back for the final exam. You work hard for your grade. The lab for this class is amazing; another teacher will teach that portion. The lab was my favorite part.

Parts of her class are easy, the AP style quizzes for example, but the writing lab is 50% of your grade and getting a good grade in that can be tough. A fun prof. but there are easier teachers out there.

Not a bad class. She goes a little fast on her powerpoint presentations during lecture so it can be hard to take notes sometimes. Attendance not required but she covers things on exams that aren't in the book so it's beneficial to attend. Gives study guide and allows pages of notes to use during exams. Blog assignments aren't too hard either.

There is no point in liking what you write, because she will only change it to what she wants it to say. She waits until stories are no longer newsworthy to respond to you. And she'll make you fix it anyway, even though there's no possibility of you being published. She is not patient with you, but she panics if you don't respond to her posthaste.

Dr. Neimeyer is perhaps the most useless professor I have ever had. Quite literally every story I turned into her this semester was not returned to me on time. She blamed me for them being late and lowered my grade accordingly. I have not learned one thing about print journalism in her class except that I now know I never want to be a journalist.

This Professor is great as a person and well educated in her subject of study. Having said that if you do not come in with experience in her field you may quickly get left behind, and she often lacks the patience to be able to provide additional attention if needed. She has a great attitude! Very nice. Style quizzes can be a little ridiculous. Read over the style book before each one. She let us re-take the midterm which was good. Your lab work is 1/2 your grade and is really easy to screw up. I got a B bc I was lucky and didn't mess up any labs and did ok on style quizzes.

She is a very nice/funny teacher. However, you will have quizzes every class and homework. Her lectures really won't teach you anything. Most of the stuff you learn will come from your breakout labs...
