Comment:
You have multiple case briefs due at each class so attendance is extremely important. Although she is strict she will work with you if you have to miss class. I learned more in this class than any other class I have taken. She is an attorney and is great at helping you decide if you want to go into law and what type of law you should go into

Lectures straight from the book. Skip class and you lose points for case briefs. Stay 5 case briefs ahead of her. No study guides for exams.

Peggy is a great professor many of the students at marshall are just weak minded and don't know how to accept a professor that actually wants you to succeed after college. her class is somewhat time demanding all you have to do is do the case briefs stay about 5 briefs ahead of her and read the book and you'll get an A easily.

I am a CJ Major and I have had Peggy several times. She is a very hard professor to please but that is only because she wants you to succeed after you graduate! Her door is always open to help you during office hours but if you don't make the effort to go, then don't try to get her to help you right after class. That won't happen! CJ423 is hard!

Class was only offered online. The chptr notes posted online are not extremely helpful. The paper req. is not thoroughly explained & considering it's the 1st CJ paper u have to write about a case-more details would've been grt. Grades hard but doesn't tell you what 2 do diff on future papers. Links to find Court case don't wrk, had 2 use other site

Completely nice professor. Tests can be really hard. Attendance isn't mandatory, but your turning in work every class. She is very reasonable about things. Have had her twice now and she's very knowledgeable of her field. Actually participate in her class and she'll like you, Don't and she won't.

I am a CJ major with an overall GPA of 3.8. This proffesor is by far the worst teacher I have ever had, EVER!!! She is the known by the student body at Marshall to be the most miserable person, to be around and especially to be taught by.

She chooses favorites. 423 is very hard with her because she does not give you any feedback on your drafts. Criminal law is like any other teacher really, just turn your case briefs in and study your book and youll be fine.

This woman was one of the most miserable professors I have ever encountered. It almost seemed as if she let her life outside of her career affect the way she taught. The class was a complete and utter farce. I would never recommend her class to any student that crosses the threshold of Marshall University. In fact, I would discourage it vehemently.

Peggy Brown is, by far, among the very worst of instructions I have had the unfortunate experience of taking. I am sure she could be a fine professor, and a fine lawyer, but her attempt to perform both careers simultaneously makes her abysmal in either profession.

She has to be the most unhelpful professor alive. She never gives clear assignments and she is never of any help. Maybe if she was more concerned with teaching than herself then it'd be okay. She is disrespectful to the students, can hardly come in time, hardly ever gives you any feedback, and is honestly the worst professor I've had at Marshall.

Dr. Brown is not too difficult but not easy. You will do many case briefs but you don't have to do full out reports for each case, I usually did mine in an hour break I had before class. The second test was really hard for me because she gave situations instead of basic questions but study the book hard and you should do fine.

I've heard she was so hard and she really wasn't. Her tests were pretty much memorization. She does just babble a lot about her past cases though and should focus more on actually teaching what the class contains.

Never gives notes, just stands and talks the whole class period. Tests are stupid.. mostly T F questions.. and she doesn't show up for them. She can be funny at times, but she has a very sarcastic attitude. Hopefully I never have to take one of her classes again!

she want her students to think about what she is teaching and will not accept anything but that. Test are hard but study and come to class and things tend to be easier.
