I'm so sad to see Dr. Gipson gone. You will be on her good side if you MAKE AN EFFORT in her class. If you want to take Comm I and slide by/not give a crap, she won't like you. She is tough because she expects a lot from us. She wants us to do well, so she pushes us. She grades based on what she believes you could do IF YOU TRIED.

Bad teacher that has attitude issues. She is not published after years of writing yet is hyper critical of students during their "learning" period. I am published yet to her, I was not to her level of expectation. If you read this Dr. Gipson, you need to repent of your attitude and start to really teach, not judge and slam honest effort.

I had Dr. Gipson for a couple of english classes, I dont remember the names exactly but it was freshman english and technical writing. I still remember freshman english, it was my first college class. On the board it just said "Start Writing" so I did. I dont know what it was about her but she was probably one of my favorite proferssors.

i was really looking forward to this class before i actually got into it. after about the second day it became apparent to all that our class time would be a complete waste, as she spent the entire hour talking in monotone about the same things. she also turned out to be one of the least helpful teachers ive ever had. avoid her if possible.

She was very cold. Wanted to help but ended up just ripping your paper a new one. I gave her a chance she is nice, but I just didnt come out of that class with a good outlook. Comm.III is a beast so be sure to have a good teacher for this class. I don't recommend Gipson for this.

I had several classes with Dr. Gipson and I thoroughly enjoy her. She is very intelligent, insightful and spiritual. Her insights are very thought provoking. Though you may be hesitant, I encourage you to allow yourself to grow and be stretched and take a class with Dr. Gipson.

Here's the low down seriously: Dr. Gipson is a pretty good teacher if you try. She is tough and will not GIVE you anything so you have to work hard. I'm a guy and she liked me fine. Good luck though!
