Peggy's really nice. Answers emails promptly. Her example questions have very good explanations. If you do all the practice questions you'll do just fine.

Comment:

Absolutely useless. Ryerson has been getting praised as "up and coming", and is often touted as having a growing and strong business program. Well, in my opinion most post-secondary institutions these days aren't that different. They're just a well-orchestrated money machine.

Comment:

She is so useless. The course itself isn't difficult IF you do the homework and questions over and over, as her midterms stem from those. However, you could tell her exam was derived from older versions of the textbook because even she couldn't understand what one of the questions was asking for. Don't expect a clear response if you ask something.

I am a regular CE student and did so well in difficult courses including CFIN 401a very hard course. However, I found this teacher to be very unorganized and the course content all over the place on BB. Worst prof ever, there is a reason why we still have a teacher or it would be taught by a computer. She was NO HELP!

I hope to God people read these reviews before they consider taking this class with Peggy. I don't know if the class is poorly planned out, or it was Peggy, but I honestly learned nothing. The assignments take days to complete and you don't learn anything, your just trying to find the right answers to questions that are ridiculously hard to solve.

This is one of the absolute worst teachers I have ever had. Her 'quizes' take an insane amount of time to complete and the textbook was so useless it minas well have been in Chinese. She doesn't answer questions directly, she refers you to the textbook (which is no help), and this class was such a waste of time. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!

Took the course online. Ended up with an A-. You will be fine if you read the textbook thoroughly and do the assignments. This was my first online course so I wasn't sure what to expect. I guess the discussion board was a good way to communicate with the rest of the class and the prof. But I found the book more helpful than Peggy at times.

I was actually most frustrated by the fact that she didn't seem to know what was going on in the course. She just used the questions in the publishers test bank and ended up using questions on the midterm that we couldn't answer with our "required" calculator, which she didn't fix or apologize for. I would avoid taking another class with her.

Useless prof, does not answer questions directly. Refers you to other students who may or may not even know the answer. The online test bank has multiple incorrect questions/answer which is aggravating when working through the homework problems. If you require someone that actually bothers to teach, look for another.

I took the course through dist. ed. and have no interest in accounting at all. It is self-taught, all based on the textbook. Peggy posts ppts that are exactly what is in the textbook which means there is no need to read the whole book. Hard work is required but overall easy. You get what you settle for. I got an A and was happy with the experience.

Took this course through distance ed and found it very difficult. Not so much the material just the way it is taught in the textbook and practically no help from the prof. Recommend taking this course in class especially since the material is insanely boring and it is very difficult to stay motivated.

This Prof is essentially useless. I know that it was a Distance course but there was no instruction or help other than "read the textbook". If you don't know anything about accounting, do not take her as her lack of any instruction will cause you to do poorly.

Very difficult course. Financial acc is much more clear. Marks generously. Midterms were straightforward but final was very hard. This is a distance course, and like with all distance courses (I've had 3) you are on your own and have to teach yourself.

Not very helpful or clear, I may as well have not had an instructor and just tried to read the text. I don't recommend taking this as an online course with her. She scheduled a midterm during one of my in-class courses and upset my other prof. She does not take advantage of the flexibility of technology during online courses.
