Be ready to read. I took NET151 and he used a course by cisco, lots of reading and tests every week. Super knowledgeable, but the way that he explains things can be hard to understand. But if you're looking for a path to getting the CCNA, hes a good choice.

If you want to receive your CCNA cert, Pete is your guy. I read reviews before signing up for his class and people were not kidding about the homework (can be intensive being on real equip). However, Pete knows Cisco like no other and can answer any question on the spot. Go into this devoted, willing to learn, & you will undoubtedly get your CCNA

The professor knows his stuff, but he fails to plan out labs properly. Most of the time in the lab is him stumbling through it trying to make it work. It wastes a lot of time and doesn't help you learn the material. You're basically just doing what he tells you to do without understanding why.

Pete's class was hard but it's really more the Cisco Curriculum that's hard. Has little to do with the teacher. I thought he was a very good teacher. I did not get an A but I learn a heck of a lot in his class. Grades are not really that important. I agree, Both Pete AND Cisco are for Tech Students. Cisco stuff takes a high level of patience.

Comment:
Only take Pete if you like to read the book on you're own, do homework that was listed for a CCNP class, figure out you're own labs, take an exam that is more difficult then a CCNA exam, and struggle with little guidance. I suggest you find someone else if this sounds like no fun.

alright I'm the previous commenter with the same date. I did not think the sites rating system accurately reflected what i thought of the professor. Anyway Pete is for extreme TECH ONLY PEOPLE. Also you must try very hard in his class for him to an effective teacher. His communication skills work on highly technical individuals only, or hard worker

Ok, Pete is very knowledgeable about Cisco and networking in general, but lacks communication skills to explain things well. To Learn from Pete you must ask questions and participate in class. The Cisco curriculum and labs are nothing to argue about, those are Cisco's standards. btw this site is a joke, since when does HARD = bad professors, ez=bad

Where to begin... This teacher is by far the worst teacher i have ever had. He lacks almost all people skills in exsistence. He barley teaches and when he does its from the very confusing ciriculum. He piles on 40 page lab books every week and ecpects you to come in on your own time to do them. If you like to learn. PETE IS NOT FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!

He is NOT a good teacher for this class. He does NOT know this material. He read directly from the book and added NO additional information. When you do notes they have to be to HIS standards not yours. He also loads on the work at the end of the semester. I highly recommend someone else for this class.

He was unprepared for class 75% of the time (if not more) which is unacceptable considering tuition and the profession he is in. Taught this class straight from the book offering little to no additional insight. For THIS class, I highly recommend you get another professor if possible.

He spent way too much time on IP subnetting. I slept most of the time and I just read the book and got a B.
