Lectures are very difficult to follow because of the lack of titles, overheads, powerpoints, etc. He just starts talking randomly about a topic. Often drifts off point. No direction at all on papers and assignments but he is very helpful if you ask for some guidance. Definitely one of the harder sociology profs.

Very difficult to follow in class, speaks off topic too often. Does not use overheads to direct and give lectures a solid foundation. Speaks too quietly without microphone. Assignments had very little direction and structure. Very nice person, helpful when needed; which usually was often.

i've had him before, but boy was i wrong to take his class again. he is absolute incompetent as a professor. he needs to retire and stay there.his lectures are disorgaized. i know more about his dog and wife than about material we are supposed to learn!gives unreasonable/unexplained grades, rude and hard to talk to!

I was really nervous about having him after reading this, but found that he was actually enjoyable as a professor. He was always friendly with me and very helpful whenever I had any questions. My suggestion would be to buy the novels she suggests, but skip on the text books, and always attend lectures.

I have no idea how, but I got the highest mark in my class in this course. To be honest, I had no idea what he was talking about 95% of the time, however, I always attended lecture so that may be why. I didn't really do the readings because there was a ridiculous amount. He's not unapproachable but can be rude even if unintentional.

RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN! Very hard prof, he is not out to make you learn about the subject but rather HIS ideas ON the subject. Not at all helpful, mean, boring, talks down to students, trust me...switch classes!

At first I was not impressed at all with this course, or the teaching. The lectures were quite difficlut to follow and I felt stupid in the class. As time went on I noticed a definite change in Dr. Archibald's lecturing and mannerism towards the students. He put forth an effort to change his teaching, and was flexible with our assignments!

This is the worst professor I have ever had in my University career! He was sooooo boring, and dull! His overheads were all over the place, and when I tried going into talk to him he was soooo judgmental and unhelpful....made me feel so dumb for having a question! It was an awful class!

Although his stories were entertaining at times, this course should have given me a better grasp of SIT,SET theories but i didn't learn a thing.Overheads had too many confusing short forms, no summarization and uneffective lecturing style.Don't take 2D06!

He is a horrible lecturer. He has no idea how to keep student's interest, or how to stay on track with the material. He also tells student's one thing one day, then changes his mind when he is marking your paper/essay. AWFUL!

Definitely needs to update the notes and be clearer with regard to teaching. I found myself confused throughout the duration of the course and it was hard to pay attention in class as EVERY CLASS WAS THE SAME. Absolutely no variation.
