Dr. Daniel's a perfectly good prof for Bio 012. Bad reviews here cause it's an intro class. Make sure you listen closely during lectures, otherwise get the info from the book. All his tests have extra credit plus another project. HW is short quizzes online and affects your grade little. Easy A if you're on top of it with all the extra credit.

You really have to study for this class, but if you do, you should be fine. His lectures are boring because of his monotone voice but if you actually pay attention you'll succeed. He's really nice so if there are any conflicts he's quick to resolve them. Go to office hours if you don't understand something! He'll explain it.

He's a nice man but a horrible teacher. Lectures are very boring and he goes very slow. Not captivating at all. I studied like crazy for his test and only got an 81. The class average was a 49!! His tests are all short answer and only cover some aspects of the chapter. In order to get a good grade on his tests you need to know everything.

Get ready to study for Bio 012. The lectures are some what helpful but when it comes to the test, study 2 weeks in advanced because those test are super hard. He knows what he's teaching, but the only issue is that the class itself is hard. I had to change my major cause Biology is not for me. Hard Class. Be ready to read read read!

I had Dr. Daniel for lecture and lab. I thought he was fantastic! Honestly, if u read the textbook, u are golden for his tests, which r MC & short answer (u can pick 3 out of 4 short answers) If students don't do well, it's usually bc they didn't read the textbook/study! He is very helpful and makes himself available outside of office hrs if asked.

He teaches as if you already know the material, So, it's hard to keep up if you don't understand something. He has office hours are not very helpful because he basically repeats the lecture. The test are difficult because he expects you to understand the subject like a professional even though your a beginner.

It was rough in that it was extremely, and I mean extremely hard to pay attention after the first few minutes. I don't think its Dr. Daniel's fault but the material is just so dry and so boring. The hard part will be trying to pay attention. It was rough but Dr. Daniel was very very fair with the grading and it was a lovely surprise!

Professor Daniel is Amazing! Many students that are giving him bad reviews are the ones that don't even read the textbook. Biology is a factual subject. A student needs to read study the textbook to get high marks, not just skim off lecture slides. Many students taking the class want to be doctors, so they need to learn to study by themselves.

Very nice guy, extremely knowledgable about the material, but extremely difficult class! His tests are not conceptual in the least, but extremely in depth and specific. I would study for hours and still do poorly in class. Do bio portal, he gives you a higher grade if he sees you were doing it.

Professor Daniel is extremely difficult, but he's such a nice guy and is very knowledgable about the material. I would often find myself studying for long periods of time for his but still get mediocre grades. Nonetheless he gives lots of extra credits do bioportal because He'll increase your overall grade by 1 letter grade if you do.

Prof Daniel is a pretty hard grader on exams. He will take points off on exams for the littlest reason, or no reason really, but grades written work like essays fairly easily. Nice guy, but kind of boring. Exams are only based on material covered in lecture, and he drops the lowest grade. Also offers many extra credit opportunities.

It is incredibly difficult to do well in this class. Sweet guy with a dry sense of humor and I do believe he is a smart guy, but he doesn't teach the material well. VERY DIFFICULT CLASS.

Terrible professor. Very hard class. There is a lot of work. There is never any homework but that is terrible because you never know what to study and what to do. There is a quiz twice a week on every chapter. Quizes aren't too bad but get annoying. Tests are insanely hard. You need to memorize 250 pages for every test.Then you might do well.

Im a 4th year med student in neuroscience and I took Dr. Daniel 2005-09. This class WILL prep u for med school. U must LEARN HOW TO LEARN. Self learning is critical in med school, grad school etc. He does his best to engage students and he succeeds, more importantly, he gives students the space to develop their skills. Honestly, bio is a really hard subject so any professor would be "hard" but Dr. Daniel was fair. 3 midterms (one is dropped) and a final and quizzes on chapters. Reading the textbook really helps and his tests are extremely detailed! But, he also offers extra credit...overall, harddd subject, fair teacher

Fabulous teacher! Clearly knows his stuff, and I thoroughly enjoy coming to class. He constantly tries to engage the class through showing silly videos, or fun demonstrations. The class is not easy, i'm not going to lie, but i assure you, if you put in effort and study in advance, you will ace this class!! I love Dr. Daniel! :D
