Great Professor! Showing up to class is a must but it is not a hard class to pass. He gives out a decent amount of pop quizzes. most of them were take home or group effort though.

Wouldn't take a class with Dorff again. Worst professor I have had so far, and doesn't prepare you for the exams. His exams make up the majority of your grade. Your only hope is to read the book and teach yourself. Majority of my classmates and I all felt the same way. His teaching is all over too and difficult to follow. He can't stay on topic.

This professor is awful! I am an A student and his exam was the hardest I've ever taken. Everything he focused on in class was not on the exam. The people who said the textbook is not needed are crazy. Most of the exam questions were obscure references from the text. Also when you don't answer correctly in class you feel horribly stupid.

Caring professor, but his exams are tricky with phrasing of questions. The subject is difficult to understand, but he does a great job at explaining it. You have extra credit opportunities on exams and the homework problem. Curves the grade. Expect pop quizzes. Passionate about the subject, and available for help outside of class.

One of the Best Professors at Kent Stark!!! Made Accounting a breeze. Does give quizzes, there easy though, take home or group. Allows you to have a 3x5 card for the tests. He is there after class or office hours if you need help. Test material is covered in class and on the quizzes.

Professor Dorff is a good guy; however, the way he teaches the already challenging material was not helpful to me. Lectures are him going up and writing on the whiteboard the whole class. Make sure to ask specific questions, read your book, and study. Tests are not easy, so make sure to take advantage of the 3x5 index card he allows you to have.

Dorff was great! He tells you at the beginning of the class that if you read ahead and work practice problems that you will pass and it held true. He allows you to have a note card for tests. He honestly loves what he teaches and it shows in his lectures.

Drove from Kent to Canton just to take Financial & Managerial from Dorff. The material is difficult but he does everything he can to help you do well. Quizzes are take home or group which makes it easier to do well. He lets you bring a note card for tests. He tells you everything you need to know for the tests in class. He makes accounting fun!!

I took three classes with Prof Dorff and I loved every minute! This guy is sooooo nice, helpful, and funny. Accounting is difficult for most, so studying is crucial. Don't miss class! Take good notes! Don't need the book.

Whoever voted this professor bad, unhelpful, and hard, McDonald's is hiring down the street. He is one of the greatest professors I have had so far. He made his classes as easy to understand as possible and was always ready to help. Tests are challenging but hey, you are going to college!!

Professor Dorff is a very nice guy and this class had its moments of being hard but he gives a lot of quizzes which help with the grade overall. I tired to take him again for managerial accounting but the class was already full. I would take him again if I could.

He is a great professor. I go to kent state main and hatted the accounting dept there if you have a car and can drive i would recommend to take his accounting courses instead of getting nothing out of the accounting dept at main. First accounting class that actually made sense to me. Highly recommend this teacher.

Only one assigned hw assignment. No reviews, he says lectures are the review for the exams. Attendance is required, taken every day and is for part of your grade. Weekly group quizzes for a grade and no make up quizzes. If you go to class you will do fine. Nice guy, willing to help and throws in an occasional joke.
