Dr. Ducey is really a wonderful teacher, but he will not take it easy on you. You need to work really hard for a good grade. His tests can be tricky but he really just wants you to know the information well and be able to think through the questions. He is so helpful outside of class and will help you with whatever you need.

Comment:

Dr. Ducey was a great professor, although I personally didn't put in the effort I should have, he made class fun and what he lectured stuck. On tests what he lectures isn't always on the tests, but he makes it clear that you have to learn somethings on your own.

Ducey is one of the best professors in our bio department. Lectures are actually interesting. His exams are notoriously difficult, and he expects very specific answers--however, they are definitely not impossible to get As on. Show up to class and write down everything he says and writes, study every night, and you should be fine.

he definitely cares about his students but this is such a hard class don't take it unless you have to. He's accessible out of class but in class he will call you out if you don't show up to for class one time. expects a lot.

TIS CLASS IS SO HARD DON'T TAKE UNLESS U HAVE TO! He is a nice person but this class is solely on memorization and connecting everything together. Lab is also extremely hard so if you're not doing so well on lecture exams don't count on doing well in lab. Also, attendance isnt taken but if you want to pass GO TO CLASS!

He is a good professor and you'll like him at first. He does not post notes so if you weren't in class you have to ask for them. Lab is extremely difficult and yes he expects you to know everything. Taking an A&P class before this may help. His test are a mixture of multiply choice, fill in, and one or two short answers. This Class is very hard

Overall hardest class I've ever taken. Be prepared to teach yourself all the material. He will give a topic in class and tell you it's on the test but won't go over it at all. He makes you learn material on your own. His grading on exams is incredibly unfair. Answers on tests must be extremely detailed to get full points. Overall worst experience.

Amazing professor. Lectures are always clear, with a ton of info, all of it important. You will walk out of class feeling like you learned something but you will also look back at your notes and be overwhelmed when you realize how much you have to study for. Be ready to put in WORK. He is HUGE help outside of class. Overall amazing PERSON ILY

Amazing teacher but he definitely makes you think for your self and learn things on your own. Tough tests and make sure you read the lab manual to pass his class. A great guy with a good sense of humor expects a lot from you. My favorite teacher so far at Cortland.

Professor Ducey is incredible! He knows everyone's name by the second class. His lectures are like no other - AMAZING. I never wanted the class to end! I look forward to taking more classes with him. You do have to study hard for tests. But, I didn't go to any S.I. sessions, just his own review sessions before tests.

Ducey makes his class hard than it needs to be but if u want a challange then i sugest taking this class if not then DON'T take it. He give pop mini quizes that are ment to boost your grade they are worth a few points. Also u should ALWAYS be studying ur notes otherwise u will be lost.

One of my favorite professors I've ever had. He only taught material in ways he thought was interesting and effective which i found to be very refreshing compared to the classic boring lecturer. Excellent professor that i would DEFINITELY take again.

Great guy. Definitely knows his stuff and will know everybody's name by 5 classes in. Tests are difficult. Notes are in depth. Very respectful and humble guy, which for his credentials is refreshing. Takes pride in knowing his students and what they want to do in and out of college, regardless of whether or not you're a science major.

If you like bio, this class will be worth while. I've never been in a class where I want to learn so much, and already half way through the course I've learned some really interesting things. His tests are difficult, but if you go to class and take good notes and study those notes a lot, you can do really good. TAKE GOOD NOTES.

Dr. Ducey is a genius! Best biology class I have ever taken. The material is difficult and the tests are too, but if you write down the notes (and all of his explanations as he is talking) you should have no problem passing. Also, if you meet with him one on one, he is VERY helpful and provides a lot of test-studying tips and guides. Good luck!

Professor Ducey's class is one my favorites since I've been in Cortland. I really learned a lot and it is because of the way he teaches. I urge you to study though because it takes a lot of work to succeed. But he makes it worth it.

The best biology professor, i love his teaching style, he definitely knows what he's talking about. He makes you interested in learning. The tests are pretty hard, but as long as you study, you should be fine. There are small quizzes on random days, so it helps to read your notes the night before class.

Dr. Ducey is Awesome. By far my favorite professor in over two years. He knows his stuff and has a great lecture style. You need to apply yourself and work hard to get a good grade. If you miss up on anything, just admit it and don't bull**** him. He is very encouraging and get on his good side because he gives out great resumes.
