Professor Gehardstein is really knowledgeable and willing to help you do well in his class. I recommend attending his office hours if you're having trouble understanding the readings or need help with the assignments. If you put effort into the assignments you'll notice that your writing and presenting improves a lot.

This professor is awful!! Please do not take this class. I always took notes, studied the lecture notes and studied the textbook and still recieved a C for his class. You had no idea what to focus on when studying for his ridiculously hard tests. Everyone I know did bad on his final exam but he wouldn't give a curve like the syllabus said.

Professor Gerhardstein is an easy professor for anyone that cares to put in minimal effort. I received an A- having been on facebook the entire class, but studying 2-3 days before the exam. Anyone who did poorly in this class has only themselves to blame and is in for a rude awakening when they get to more difficult classes.

WORST PROFESSOR EVER!!!NEVER gave feedback of your exams but only the grades. And not any extra credits even the whole class screwed up. I always sat on the seat just in front of him but can not hear him clearly as well. The powerpoint he provided never matched up to the textbook so you have no idea of how to review for your exams.

Do not, and i repeat DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. I tried to overlook the harsh reviews but he's ridiculous. His tests are hader than they need to be and the fact that there's only 2 tests and a final is not helpful. Go to class bc he uses Tophat and that's how you can get participation. If you can take this over the summer or winter session, DO SO

Comment:
His lecture notes are not very helpful. They are very scattered and not related to material that you need for the tests. The tests are relatively hard-essays are given to you before the test, but there are 25+ possible questions and 4 on the test. The multiple choice are very specific to the textbook. He is very hard to understand in lecture.

He cannot teach, he sort of mumbles through his presentations on Tophat which makes it hard to follow along. He skips all over with his thoughts and he doesn't really explain anything in detail

I got a C in this course and didn't read the book up until the day before tests. This class is extremely hard but just actually read the book ahead of time, take notes, and you should be fine. Tests are essay format but he gives you the questions ahead of time so you can be prepared. Just don't do what I did and you'll be fine if you work hard.

I really enjoyed perception with Prof Gerhardstein. The material is very interesting and Gerhardstein explains it very well. Reading the textbook is a must for doing well on tests. He gave us potential short essay questions for the test which was helpful. The multiple choice were all factual information. Study, read and you will do fine.

I received a C in his class and I still think that he's a great prof. It was hard for me to get used to essay exams, but he gives you the questions beforehand. The great thing about this professor is that he truly wants you to do well. I unfortunately have horrible test anxiety and choked on exams, but I really do believe this is a fair class.

This is the best psych class I've taken at Bing. The prof. is an awkwardly funny guy, very approachable, and the material itself was just super interesting. The textbook was a treat. Sometimes he was hard to follow, but that may be because the class was at 8:30 am. No serious complaints!

I'm honestly surprised that there are so many bad reviews about Prof. Gerhardstein. He really wants his students to do well and adjusts his course to accommodate students. His class is also fairly easy.

He is an extremely fair professor. He attends to the students' needs and is super approachable. He gives you essay questions that are going to be on the test so as long as you go to lecture and actually read the textbook you'll get the grade you deserve. Definitely recommend this class!

unbelievably difficult. jumps all over the place with the material, is a wise guy when you ask q's and expects you to be a mind reader and understand what he means even if e is not conveying the material in a clear manner. not a good professor at all and not understanding when you approach him for help.

This guy is all over the place. He jumps around and has trouble with the computer. However, despite that, he is a brilliant man who wants to convey his knowledge to the students. Overall, he does a decent job. The book he chose was excellent. The course is difficult but I think he does his best to help. You have to go daily if you want an A.
