I honestly find the type of poetry that we studied in his class to be incredibly pretentious. All that abstract writing is just a way to hide behind true feelings and experiences, if you ask me. So, that's how I felt about the material. The professor himself was was an egomaniac, took himself too seriously and didn't seem to care about students.

He once called himself a "chunk of hunk". Egotistic, charming, poetry guru, and thinks himself the coolest Neil Young wannabe. He'll mooch a cigarette, and quote poetry to pretty girls. He's the epitome of a bad assed Magilla Gorilla...You'll learn more about the New York School than you've ever wanted to know, and be thankful for it later.
