Pete was a great professor and made math bearable for me ! I first took his math 45 class about 5 years ago, and now that I am going back to school and switched majors that involves math, there is no doubt that I will chose his upper level classes.

Comment:

The tests' have problems similar to what you see in the HW and in class. Go to class because you WILL miss something important. The material is hard at first but becomes easier. HE wants to interact with the class. Gives you enough time to do the HW and study. Is available after class. The HW has a min of 50+ problems. Teaches you whats needed.

Pete can be funny sometimes, but as the semester progresses you will really start hoping that he uses the time to try and teach something useful in class instead. The tests are often much harder than the homework and the lecture problems. There are far better teachers that teach this subject, I would never retake him for any class.

A lot of positive things to say about Pete. If you're a hard worker and care about your grade, take his class. He is very clear about what he wants from you, gives you the opportunity to work out your mental cob-webs in class, and is pretty direct. Seriously. Not many professors out there like him. If you're mature and ready to work, take him.

This teacher was just awful. His mandatory lectures are pointless because you don't learn anything, which means you will have to study at home instead. His exams do not include material from his lectures or the homework, plus he is a tough grader. You can expect half the class to fail his first exam. Choose a different math teacher!

Fun teacher, urges you to ask questions and tries his best to help you pass the class. Informative and patient, I didn't see the tyrant some of these reviews try to portray. You need to put in the time to pass outside of just going to class; he will not hold your hand. You'll deserve the grade that you got. Only issue was the mandatory attendance.

Pete was a great teacher who taught A LOT of shortcuts that saves a lot of time when taking the exams because they are all fill in , no multiple choice (except the final) But he really pushes you to try your hardest which really helped me because I wasn't the biggest fan of math. BUT, if your phone goes off, or your constantly absent HE WILL DROP U

Pete was a good teacher and he was clear and direct in what he expected you to do. Just do the homework and keep up in lectures and you should be fine. The only personal problem I had with him is that he told too many stories and said some problematic things lol. If you don't get offended by political talks or anything, then you should be fine.

His lectures are way easier than his tests. Tests are 80% of your grade and the final is 20% of your grade. If you want to pass his class you must ask questions and see him during his office hours or at the math center. (BTW he will kick you out of class if your phone rings)

He's pretty funny sometimes. He can teach well but you do have to put in the work. Get help if you need to. He drops one test and replaces it with your grade on Math XL so make sure to do your hw. Lots of tests.

Pete is simply a clown. He is not a good teacher. He is very confusing and has a chip on his shoulder. His jokes are waste of class time. He hardly comes on time. Take someone else.

I have always thought that the difficultness or easinnes of a subject depends on how well the professor is, Mr. herrera completely prove this. I didn't hate a class until I met him. I consider myself a hardworking student and he is the first professor that has made me drop a course. Horrible way of teaching, horrible way of presenting tests.

Honestly his way of teaching is extremely hard. If you are not good at math, don't even consider taking him. He is really smart but does not know how share his knowledge. Be aware that he will just do math problems, briefly go through them and expect you to understand why the answer is what it is.

Comment:

Despite being mean and having a big ego Pete is a good teacher. His class is simple & effective we are graded on exams & hw & final. Although he puts down students when they ask questions(Sometimes they ask for it), jokes a lot, and goes way too fast at times I would take him again. For the most part he knows how to teach pretty good.

Took Pete's Math 60 class over the summer, but had to withdraw halfway. He's not a good professor- goes too fast, makes too many jokes, puts students down when asking questions, always late to class and from breaks, wastes too much time. Take a different professor!!!

I enjoyed his class over the summer, although it was more work than usual since it was a short span of time. He pretty much lectures everyday on new material, but he loves doing what he does and he makes sure that the class understands the material. Also, the hard part of the class was listening to him make jokes.

Great teacher, fast paced lectures you must keep up with the book. Hes tries to make it simple, hes vry clear, probably the best teacher for 244 if youre headed for the 250s. Funny ;)

This guy is a big kid! He loves to talk about stuff not related to math. He thinks he is funny but he is not. He brags about himself instead of teaching. If you want to learn the stuff take someone else. It shows that he does not like teaching. He is always late to class but if you come late he will be rude.
