As a sociology major, trust me when I say you may end up having him a lot. Luckily, this is not a bad thing. He is invested in his students, and is not too hard of a grader. Put in the effort, and you can get an A... or at least a B+. Well, you won't fail. Readings are important as he often has you speak in groups about them. Good choice.

He is one of the toughest grader ever. He assigns a lot of papers in his class. If you don't like to write stay away from him though. My advice is to stay away from taking his class. He doesn't count participation and attendance together which can affect your grade a lot. I would recommend taking theories with Halasz a lot easier grader.

I was really excited for this class and I enjoyed him at first. Had us call him Peter, sat in a desk with us as an equal. But then- papers. He ALWAYS gives unhelpful feedback and he said "it wouldve been nice to mention Trump, the epitome of narcissism.." as my feedback. He puts his biases on you and he takes up all your presentation time rambling

Peter is the MAN! His lectures could be boring one day, and the next day are awesome. All depends on what the student is into. He is a very fair Professor that wants to see his students interact with one another and succeed. You work in groups a lot but it is a must to do the readings before class. His lectures are based off the readings.

If your not into sociology, this will be boring class. I'm a hardworking student, but he grades your essays harsh if your english isn't your first language and have grammar problem. I got a B in that class. It hard to get an A!! I know a person who talk a lot in class, but got a C!! How that possible! she does her works and better eng than me.

If you plan on getting an A in the course, don't get your hopes up. Nothing about the course is challenging, just a guaranteed repetition of the same stuff everyday. Annoying high school formatted papers, and most likely a bad grade.

Peter is the greatest professor I have ever had. We practiced meditation in the start of every class. He is so interested in what he teaches, and you can tell he loves what he does. If you have a chance to take a class with him, do it. Seriously. He doesn't test, and the class is all reading and writing. I loved every minute of it.

This guy is great. He's clearly passionate about sociology and always tries to make the work relevant to everyday life. He encourages his students to learn off of each other and not just him, a teaching style that is all too rare. The work he assigns is flexible and never really stressful, but not easy, as it challenges your intellect

Oh, Peter. What an amazing person. He is excited about what he teaches and he makes it meaningful to his students. He is not easy but he will provoke some very analytical thinking. He changed my college experience and my perspective on the world. We are lucky to have such a passionate and intelligent professor at NP.

this guy is awesome. wants you to refer to him by first name. everyones opinion matters. keeps the class going forward. you need to write five 2-3 pg essays but if you just put youre true thoughts you'll get 100. would really enjoy another one of his classes. HE HATES TESTS=NONE. no final just a final project. TAKE HIM
