Comment:

Great Pchem professor. He was very concise in lecture and would hint at the type of questions he would ask in an exam. Studying the hw and reading the book helped a lot for his short exams. His final was almost exactly like his practice final. Very helpful and nice. One of the best chemistry teachers here in Davis.

Professor Kelly was amazing. First teacher that I have had at Davis that actually cared that I understood the material or not. Heavily weighted final but amazing teacher. Crystal clear with material. He would explain concepts until the entire class understood.

Horrible professor. His lectures are not helpful. He makes an easy concept, harder than it should be. Avoid him if you can!! No podcasts, so you have to go to class (which isn't even helpful)..

Horrible professor. Avoid him if you can because he's the type to take a decent/easy concept and over complicate it. He doesn't podcast either so attendance is mandatory. He thinks he's a great lecturer and laughs at how "easy" he makes things, but its anything but easy. Avoid, at all costs.

Class was interesting but he got boring at some points. He tried really hard to make it fun though which I appreciated. He was extremely goofy which was nice but it was way too hard to focus even though he gave us a lot of helpful info because it was so boring. He was a good professor other than that.

Incredibly talented and very enthusiastic about quantum mechanics. Go to lectures, take notes, do the homework and buy the solutions manual. He knows his stuff. Office hours are incredibly helpful. The book is concise and dense so be sure to at least skim it. It has plenty of examples

i had kelly up until the 1st midterm and then toupadakis took over. he's very clear with his explanations, prepared us well for the MT and the MT was fair in my opinion but i crammed a ton out of the book like usual before the 1st MT. nice guy! and funny too

he's not as bad as people below described. all lectures are powerpoint and he does a few demos in class. midterms are hard but not impossible - a lot of the problems are like the practice midterm.

I wanted to like this class. I saw the reviews up here after the first lecture, and realized that I should have taken everyone else's advice and switched out. I hated this class. Boring lectures (from powerpoint) really hard tests which differ from lectures, and a generally annoying prof.

Kelly is an awful professor. He talks about things that aren't on the tests, tells you to read Everything in the book, gives nonrepresentative practice tests, and on just for fun...his experiments don't work. The final was unbelievably difficult. I don't know who else teaches 2B but stay away from this guy.

This class was hard!!! I still have a final for it, and whether I pass or not depends on that final. The class average was a 40% on the 2nd midterm. We did pretty terrible, but the curve helped a lot of people; it didn't really help me. I didn't feel like Kelly had an effective teaching style and everyone's test score showed that.

JUST DON'T EVEN HAVE THE NAME KELLY PETER IN YOUR MIND WHILE YOU REGISTER FOR CHEM 2B. He sucks. He actually thinks he's a good teacher in his own little world. If you don't want to suffer and repeat chem 2B, don't take KELLY PETER. Horrible lecture, horrible laugh, lazy, his "sophisticated" voice he thinks he's doing is just annoying and boring.

I got a B by skipping Kelly's useless lectures for Augustine's awesome ones. His exams are nothing like his practice ones- they are copies of Augustine's! Half of the class went to his review! Augustine is way awesome, but his classes have terrible curves. My advice to you.

Kelly was a horrible prof. He only touches on very basic concepts in his lectures and expects you to understand everything else on ur own. All he talks about are things in the book that don't even matter, like acid rain and pollution.
