Dr. Kreeft was amazing. Great lecturer and very smart (and funny!) man. He was always there when I needed help and was very accommodating and encouraging. You cannot fail his courses if you earnestly make the effort to learn the material and are willing to put in work and extra credit. Visit him in his office, I think he appreciates that.

I had Peter as my philosophy teacher some forty years ago and I still hear his voice in my life. He was simply the biggest influence on my thought and on my own personal direction in life. His words come from a prayerful place and if you are willing to actually listen with your whole self you may experience as did I 'the sublime courtesy of God'.

I feel that though he may be a well regarded professor and served for many years it may have gone to his head and effected his teaching now. He seems to have an heir of superiority beyond any other professor I have had here and I think it impedes his ability to teach Philosophy especially.

Comment:

Professor Kreeft is one of the best teachers and mentors that I have ever had. If you take learning seriously, you cannot do poorly in his class. Yes, his exams are hard (they actually test your knowledge). But extra credit papers are always accepted; thus a poor grade truly reflects a lack of effort.

Dr. Kreeft is a great professor, the crown jewel of the philosophy department at BC. I recommend taking any of his classes to understand real philosophy. There are those who don't like him, but they are wrong in many things and do not appreciate the truth. Do not listen to them. He is always to talk with you and listen to you. Dr. Kreeft is a true philosopher because he really lives the life of a philosopher.

I took Kreeft three times while at BC. Even then I heard something new with each class. As philosophy profs go, you won't find someone more skilled, experienced, published or more interesting than he. Bonus if you take his Tolkien class.

I personally fell asleep in Kreeft's class, but then again it was a huge lecture class. The entire grade was based on 2 large multiple choice tests, so it screwed my GPA freshman year. But he really is brilliant & if I'd had him in diff. class, I think I would've liked him better. So basically avoid his big lectures & stick with the small seminars.
