Kuznick is a gem. He's brilliant and definitely expects a lot from his students - but as long as you try and express interest, he'll do anything to help you. His courses require lots of reading, but you'll be better for it if you put in the work. Go to office hours to check in/get help. Overall great choice for anyone passionate about history.

I graduated AU a few years ago and Peter Kuznik is one of the professors I recommend to current students. Although he definitely isn't afraid to share his political views and opinions about conspiracy theories, I found his class interesting and a great mix of history and film. Even if you don't buy into the conspiracy theories, he makes you think.

He is the nicest professor ever. I used to be a far-eight republican, but his affable outlook on life allowed him to cause me to shift my political views to being a conservative libertarian.

Peter is an awful professor when it comes to clear-cut facts about American History, instead putting much greater importance on conspiracy theories. He tends to talk about himself every chance he gets and he is absolutely in love with Oliver Stone. He loves to play up everything he does to try to make himself seem like to most interesting man.

Likes to drop names every time he opens his mouth: "I just got off the phone with Napoleon.." HE has a serious hang up with Oliver "Nut Case" Stone and is into conspiracy theories. As long as you agree with him, no problem. Avoid this guy is possible.

The best professor I had in my four years at AU. Brilliant, encyclopedically knowledgable, and unlike some negative commenters have said always provides ample evidence to back up all claims. You will not find a class with better guest speakers or a more comprehensive (if not necessarily organized) study of the subject. An absolute must-take.

AWFUL!!!!! This is, to date, the worst class I have ever taken! Sad, considering I went into it thinking it would be an amazing class. If you believe the entire history of the United States is one giant conspiracy than you will feel right at home. However, do not expect him to back up any of his nonsense with actual references.

I can see how people have mixed feelings. He does like to name-drop and talk about himself, but I still liked him and enjoyed the class. He's very open to comments and is very knowledgeable in his field. He's a very nice person and the reading list for the class was great.

Great professor, with a great interest in this field. Funny with a wonderful sense of humor about history. He works hard to make the 20th century interesting to Early American scholars. Loved the class, worked hard in, it but learned a lot. He is willing to work with students and answer questions.

Terrible class! I was expecting this class to be amazing but it quickly turned into one giant conspiracy! Interesting that he thinks because he is a professor he can just create historical facts without providing any reliable sources! He is so wrapped up in himself he is blinded by his own ego! I left this class not believing anything he said.

Fun class. Kind of a joke. A very revisionist history course but if you keep an open mind it's pretty fun. It's cool how he ties pop culture to history. The books are not necessary but good reads if you're interested. You can get an A and put no work into it if you want. Half of his speakers cancel.

Absolutely the best professor I have had at AU. He is a genius but is quite humble. He has amazing connections and the guest speakers range from Hollywood directors to FBI agents and more. He gives you freedom in your papers and the materials he uses are novels, movies and articles, not dry textbooks.

Peter Kuznick teaches a polemic, not history. He then expects you to exclude anything resembling a polemic from your papers. His lectures are not structured and make no sense the way they are laid out. You can't even take notes in his class because of the way he refuses to transition to points. A ridiculous amount of work for a 200 level class.

Kuznick is VERY liberal but opened my eyes to a different message than I have gotten my whole live regarding nuclear policy and media. Readings were not that important but you must spend a lot of time watching required movies. These films have completely changed the way I think about WMDs. This class could change your mind on a lot of things

Kuznick is one of the smartest people I've met. Also one of the most liberal. He expresses his views in the classroom, but does not bias in grading and intelligently debates with students. Also has great connections leading to awesome guest speakers. That said, the class fell behind very quickly. Definitely take the class.
