As an international student, I took this class the first semester I was in the U.S. The reading was a lot; at least more than 250 pages a week. But Prof. Onuf really has passion about what he's teaching and he knows a lot!! I enjoyed going to the lectures :)

Great professor, he knows as much as anyone on the subject. His lectures are funny, but the class is really hard. You can do alright without keeping up with the reading but its still a bit overwhelming.

Another history professor who is brilliant and respected in his field and impossible to follow in the classroom. Spent most of lecture declaring what he was intending to do, and then never getting around to it. A lot of reading (upwards of 200 pgs/wk) and an impossible midterm. Not terrible, but not one of my favorites.

What a great class - I transferred in last minute, taking a huge risk. The midterm was impossible, but I learned so much and he's a brilliant lecturer. He's going on sabbatical, but take Age of Jefferson with him. Greatest class I have ever taken. I was sad when I finished writing the final paper. Will teach you to appreciate T. Jefferson!

I took a really dull class - American Wests - but I really have to say that Professor Onuf is probably an amazing professor in any other circumstance. There were three professors for the class, and Onuf was the only one that was passionate and interesting
