One of the hardest tests I've ever taken in a class. I normally receive all As in my classes but I'm borderline a C in the class. DO NOT take it for a gen ed.

Dr. Soules lectures are easy to take notes on since he highlights stuff that you need to know. Take advantage of this because the exams are tough. When I took him, he didnt have an attendance policy but I highly recommend showing up or you will miss a lot of notes.

Dr. Soule is a great instructor for this class. Though he can be a tough grader, you can definitely pass as long as you go to class and take proper notes.

I went into Dr. Soule's class expecting to earn an easy A (how hard can GHY1010 be?). Unfortunately his lectures are really long and the homework is fairly difficult. If you're genuinely interested in geography then definitely take his class! If not, just don't do what I did and expect to blow through this class without working.

Dr. Soule is definitely educated, and invested in the research that he does; but as an instructor, he has major cons. He lacks transparency and doesn't really deliver information well. His lectures are miserably long, boring AND he rushes through them a bit. His tests are quite difficult. Make sure to study hard

I had Soule for Physical Geography. Loved the class and he made it very interesting but very tough grader with hard tests based off what he says in class. Absences will reduce final grade by percentages.

Very knowledgeable, does a pretty good job of making the material understandable. Pay attention to the highlighted words in his PowerPoints, you'll see them again on the tests. 3 tests and the lab grade. If you go to every class then you get an extra 2 points added to your final grade.

Okay, Soule was a good teacher. His lectures were informative and incredibly long. He's nice and clearly knows what he's talking about. There's only three exams but they're all incredibly difficult. There's so much information packed into just 50 questions. Don't take if you want an easy gen ed class.

Reading the textbook is useful, but not required. There are no assignments and only 3 tests. The final is not cumulative, which is nice.

This guy..... If you don't worship his lecture style and laugh at his jokes, he judges you for being not as smart as he is. He will individually pursue you and punish you. The fact is, he's not *that* smart and he's very entitled about his free time vs. your free time. He will not give you his office time, you're on your own.

He does depend on iClickers for his class, but this counts towards his attendance grade. If you're there all the time, then +2 points on your final grade. If you miss consistently, don't expect to pass. All of his material comes from the board and you hardly will ever crack open the book. I spent about 35 hours outside of class studying per test.

I can't even begin to explain the frustration I have with this professor. This class is one of my last Gen Ed requirements to fill my sustainability theme. That being said, I am not interested in Geography and did not come into the class with any previous knowledge. He tests on items not in his lecture and is not helpful outside of class.

Few assignments done in this class; mainly consists of note taking and test taking. If you don't put in at least 2-5 hours of study time you won't do well on exams. This class is mainly about, memorizing facts. He can also be kind of boring to listen to.

Dr. Soule's class was super easy if you're good with memorizing facts. Attendance was taken daily and for a grade, but he posts the lectures online.

I did not expect to put as much effort into a gened as I did for this class. A lot of information is piled into one test. He is kind of a jerk, but he knows his stuff. After the first test you get the jist of how the class will be, which is why I would take him again.

It's a challenging, but interesting course. The exercises and tests are difficult. Dr. Soule posts the lecture slides online, but often the test material comes from overhead or board material. If you go to every class, you get two extra credit points on your final grade. Go to class, take great notes, and study hard and you can get an A.

Would not recommend! His test are way harder than they need be, I would study for hours and still do awful. Also gives worksheets to do for homework and they are very confusing to compare with the material. Attendance is mandatory, he does it daily on the clicker system.

I took his class for gen ed and it was an easy A. Just come to class, listen, write some stuff down, and the tests will come to you easy. They're multiple choice and he asks rather simple questions. We never used the textbook which is good because I hate reading.

I'm a geography minor and this is my last class for credit. All of my other courses have been 3000-level, yet somehow this one is the hardest. He's not a bad teacher, but his tests are just harder than they need to be. The class is called intro to physical geography, but all we talk about is weather.
