Comment:

Lectures tend to be example-heavy and cover relevant information. Unit tests are honestly pretty easy but his finals tend to be a lot harder than you expect (namely as there's a section devoted to "challenge problems"). I recommend doing as well as possible on unit exams but he scales generously so you can make mistakes and still get a good grade.

If you listen and take notes and do the homeworks, the tests are easy. If you don't good luck. There are a lot of homeworks, but they are only worth 10% of your grade. Tests can be hard but he often scales them, as well as your final grade.

Prof. Swaszek is my favorite engineering professor so far. He has a dry sense of humor and is very straight and honest with students. As long as you pay attention in lecture and work the homework until you understand it then you will succeed. He can be critical of students, so try to get on his good side.

Second time completing the course. Passionate about circuits, but not the most clear on how to approach them. Exams may contain problems not covered in class. Although a lab, ELE-215 has more than enough workload to be considered a lecture with a separate final exam. Assignments given are not coordinated with other engineering classes.

This is a hands on class. You have to keep up with the material everyday, Similar to calculus. If you follow his guidance and the syllabus, you should be fine. Go to him right away if you get lost.if youtry to just skate through with minimal effort, you wont be happy.

This is the first introduction to engineering and takes a little time getting use to thinking in a different way then you you are tough in high school. I took this class a few years ago and hated him when I did, but a few more years in the program and you will understand he is a saint compared to what is coming.

Very good professor, took time to explain things if you asked. Class was only teaching the basics which he tried to make as interesting as possible, for really basic ele topics. He expected you to do the work and figure out the problems without him having to do everything for you

ELE201--He was a funny and nice professor, but other than that all he does in class are stupid examples. He never really explains how he gets his answers. His exams are extremely difficult and he is not an easy grader at all. Its an interesting class but he makes it very difficult considering its a 200 level course

One of the most annoying, uncaring, professors I have ever had. He piles on the work at the end of the semester without thinking about how much he is really give between lab and lecture. Cannot wait to be done with this teacher. So far my most hate professor at URI.

his first time teaching this class.....very difficult class to begin with, but it only got worse because he was figuring out how to teach it as he went. hopefully he'll improve in future semesters. tough grader, but usually fair. expects you to be able to think through a complex problem, not just duplicate an example/homework problem.

half of these comments say he is unhelpful. if you took the class you would know he is one of the most helpful profs around. He is also funny and really cares about his quality of teaching. He can be tough at times, but if you go to every class you will never have a problem. Excellent teacher.
