i've got literally no idea what's happening in this class, ever. his lecture style makes so little sense, and exams are way too many questions with very little time. would deeply appreciate it if he put up the homework answers earlier than the night before the exam, bc i dont understand the homework and have very little to study from.

His lectures are so disorganized even when I focus super hard in what he's saying I can't learn anything. Not enough time for quizzes or tests with minimal curve to compensate. He lectures beyond the 50 minute period about 90% of the time. Homework will test you over things he will never teach. This class wouldn't be hard if it wasn't for him.

Comment:
Unorganized, scatter brained, but very intelligent. Doesn't convey material well in lectures, but provides a lot of material online. However, the material is as unorganized as his lectures - looks like a picasso painting. He likes to talk about related subject matters, but leaves little time for explaining course material well. Try to avoid him.

Tenpas is a good teacher and he seems to care but is terribly unorganized and his lecture are all over the place. The class has a quiz every week and if you do not read the chapters before lecture you will terribly confused. This class requires an insane amount of out of class work but if you put in enough time you can enjoy it.

I like and respect him a lot. He deserves respect because he cares about his students. He cares about science too. He wants his students to think logically and learn not just copy and memorize equations. Yes, he does not teach as he should be in the class but he gives a lot of sources to help students prepare very well for exams.

Weekly group homework, group quizzes, group case studies, and Tophat questions for participation. For this class, he drops the lowest exam score, and if you opt out of the final, the average of the best 2 exams and all quizzes becomes the final exam score. Start off strong and you won't fail.

Dr TenPas is a great professor! If you have trouble to keep with the class pace, he is always there for you when you talk to him during his office hours. Also the review sessions he offer will help you do well in the course. He cares more about what students learn in the class than their course grade.

The first couple days of class are intimidating but once you start to understand the topics, it gets a lot better. make sure to stay on top of homework assignments. at the beginning of the semester, MAKE SURE TO GET IN A GOOD GROUP (that can make or break your grade). try not to take the final if you don't have to.

Dr. TenPas is unequivocally the best professor I have had in the mechanical engineering department. He is a scatterbrained genius who goes off tangents every now and then. The problems he gives you are extremely realistic and will prepare you for tests. The best thing about his class is the amount of resources he provides for tests and quizzes.

Peter is the best. Beginning of the semester, I didn't like him. But he turned out to be my fav professor. He is a squirrel in class and the tests are very hard. But it is going to be okay. I got a 40% on the first test and got an A. Thermo is a hard subject but Peter is the best to take it from. Get with him 1 on 1 and you'll see why. 10/10.

Professor Tenpas is a genius, but extremely scatterbrained. Lectures can take odd tangents. The homework is rough, but tests mirror the homework pretty closely. If you attend office hours, be prepared to go off topic. Take it with him over the summer if you can, as he seems more focused with smaller class sizes.

He puts you in a group at the beginning of the semester which is nice if you know people but if you get a random group it could make you or break you. Homework and quizzes are in groups but if a group member doesn't show up or do their work then you're both screwed even if you did yours. Overall, lecture is messy and his grading could be better.

He is a very good professor. His lectures help the students to think like engineers. He is a genius and also has good working experience in this field. Would definitely take another class with him.

He isn't as bad as everyone makes him out to be. I was scared to take this thermo section, but it wasnt all that bad. Go in with the mindset that you will work really really hard and you will succeed. His tests are fair and very similar to his homework. The homework is super hard, but you learn well. Overall not as bad as I thought.

TenPas wasn't all that bad. The class itself is tough and he really does a great job on the content he teaches. Can come off as rude in lecture to questions and is best approached outside of lecture. If you put forth the effort you're going to pass even if you don't have the greatest grasp on the material. Load up the equation sheet with examples.

Take this class in the summer. This man is very brilliant, but his charisma and genius is best experienced in a smaller setting. He uses real life examples, and teaches with a mix of his vast experience and textbook notation. His equation sheet has the answers to the questions. He always provides and explains how to read them too. Do not be afraid

I have above a 3.3 gpa and am a good student. I never miss class and study hard but his lack of organization and clarity is so terrible that I am going to do everything in my power to never take a class with him again.
