Extremely knowledgeable, will always try to make extra time for you, happy to help and wants students to succeed. Encourages a 'try for yourself and see' attitude - instead of giving you an answer, usually he will review your options and give you a chance to figure out the best one on your own. Patient and deliberate. Would take again.

PYoon is the man. Will often stay in his office past midnight to help his students. His 275 is a beast of a class and should not be taken unless you have a firm grasp on the introductory material from 115 and 215. To all those who say that he is unclear, let me clarify: CPSC is not a straightforward subject, blow off the reading and you will fail.

If you can get past Yoon's heavy accent, his lectures are okay - a little slow for my taste, but still fine. In terms of ease, though, he's very inconsistent. Some assignments (and exams) are a breeze while others are impossible. He's useless in office hours; he pretty much will just repeat what he said in class, no matter what your question is.

He assigns homework on things you have not learned yet. He's not very clear when he speaks, and is not very helpful. He doesn't teach either. The first half of class he tells you everything you read for homework, and then you do an in class assignment which takes longer than the amount of time he gives you. Oh, and T.A.'s grade homework...

Quick message to other students, don't take Comp Sci classes to fill a requirement! His classes are tough but do you want to learn or just get handed a degree? I took his hardest courses and received As in all of them because I had to work and learned a ton. Stop looking for a free ride and do some work.

This class is EXTREMELY difficult. Prior to taking this I had received A- in two cpsc courses and was thinking of being a CPSC major, but this professor COMPLETELY turned me away from that. Meeting with him was absolutely not helpful at all-had to go to help outside the college to pass the course.

Easy class for a student who understands math and science. For people taking the class to meet a requirement, it's probably not going to be that easy. He knows what he is talking about and gives very fair tests and quizzes.

He wants to help you, he really does, but his clarity in explinations is somewhat horrendous. Often had trouble understanding concepts that were relatively easy had he just presented them in a clear fashion. Nice guy, really smart, but needs to learn to teach better.

This class is impossible. He doesnt realize or care that his students don't understand the material. When you come in for help, he makes vague abstract arugments about houses and pencils. I will no longer be a CPSC major because of him, thanks yoon.

its a very extensive class.going for extra help is useful. this class is really difficult, don't take it as a blowoff course. you are gonna have to put in a lot of effort, the averge midterm average is a 64 and he thinks that is good

Yoon is smokin tasty, but the class can be a headache from time to time. Sometimes he doesn't pay very much attention to what he is doing and makes errors that are confusing to people who don't know as much as he. Keep pestering until he figures it out.

Heaven help anyone who has this man for a lecture class! I had him for CPSC lab and he did't explain anything!! Nice guy, but can't communicate ideas or concepts very well. Also, kind of hard to understand because of thick accent.
