I don't get everyones comments. If you didn't do well in his class you just didn't understand his teaching style. Its not rocket science. He wants you to LEARN and apply the information not regurgitate answers out of the book. Studying the book gets you low grades. Study the .PPT he gives you and APPLY it. He was a tough but awesome teacher!

Listen do yourself a Big favor and take another teacher. He makes this course way to hard then what it should be. He doesn't offer help when you ask and takes forever in a day to answer emails. Save yourself the headache and take another teacher you can thank me later.

Very, very knowledgeable man and I am sure that at SUNY, where he used to teach, he was great. He makes a 100 level course harder than it should be. If you have to take Sociology, make it easy on yourself and go with a different teacher. If you want to be a sociologist then he is your best choice.

Do not take this course online if you are a straight A student. This course is virtually impossible to get an A in. I struggled with the assignments and tests. The tests are so hard that he has to curve them at least 8 points each test.

I took the course online and found the professor to be at times incredibly rude and state his opinion very often. Much of the class focussed on current event instead of what was in the text. I would not recomend him as a professor; although I did do well in the class. He would made every one think out side of the box.

You can pass if you play his games,and enjoy constant criticism and condescending comments. is old yet will talk about his infedelities...his opinion column at tu went to his head

I took this twice, never got above a C. I'm pretty sure he's just a bad teacher, after his class I took an SOC class at the 400 level and got an A+ :( His lectures are somewhat useful but he gets easily derailed. Don't bother using blackboard, he can't spell at all. Extremely hard tests which count for all of your grade. Don't plan on passing!

Absolutely horrible. Very hard grader. Expects you to know everything. Alot of work. Tests pertain to real life situations and study guides do not help. Looking up the terms will not help only on final. Write a lot on DBQ to get those easy 10 points thats how i passed!

I thought that he was a very fair teacher. As long as you used the terms that you were learning in class it was super easy to pass with an A. He encourages you to express your opinion even if you don't agree with his. I learned a lot in this course and if he had others, I would gladly pick him as my teacher.

Didn't like him. He doesn't grade well, even if you put a lot of effort into it. He can take an A+ student, and turn them into a C- student. Very hard grader. Very confusing HW assignments. Don't take this class online.

Worst teacher. Has many flaws compared to good traits. Very involved,gives lots of feedback, and participates in discussions more than any teacher I have ever seen. But very tough when grading, gives horrible grades. Gives continuous negative criticism. Very rude & makes class boring. I took this online & wish I took it w/ a different teacher.
