Phil is a great professor. He has been in the industry forever and has "been there and done that". With this being said, he knows what he is talking about. It is easy for Phil to teach this class because he knows all of the ins and outs and knows welding like the back of his hand.

One of my favorite teachers ever! McNew made Light Frame and Finishes a very fun class. He is very helpful and understanding. I loved his "stretch sessions" and dry sense of humor. Videos and PowerPoints are very informative. If you take good notes, tests are very easy. Wish I could take more classes from him.

Great Teacher!! He doesnt take attendace out loud but knows when you miss and will reflect that in your grade. His notes are easy and straightforward, listen and pay attention in class and you are set for the tests. He is very helpfull with any quesions you have or any make-up work you need.

Great Teacher. Light Frame and Finish is one of the easiest classes I've ever taken. Go to class and pay attention and you will do great in this class. If he says write it down its on the test don't skip or you will fall behind

This guy is a character. He teaches via Powerpoint and videos, and makes it pretty easy to take in. He first comes off as a tough guy, but he's got a good sense of humor and makes jokes all the time. Attendance is manditory, but it is really easy to sit through this class.

Had him for Methods of Light Framing. Good Teacher. Pretty funny. Say's Phenomenal alot. Don't buy the book cause he doesn't use it. He shows alot of video's and then has you write a couple sentences about it worth 10 pts so if you don't show up for class it can hurt your grade pretty quick. Tests aren't bad if you came to class for the lecture.

I hated the idea of taking this tech class, but taking it during the summer is THE WAY to go. He made it fun and easy to understand. And btw...Phil is soooo hot. Especially after he rides his motorcycle--YOW!

Never take welding here. He gives you about 10 minutes to try and learn how to make a line weld and you are off to the next machine. Can't bring in outside projects, you only weld on flat pieces of steel or make T/I joints/beams.Not fun.Dreaded IT!
