Dr. Allison is absolutely amazing. She was ready and willing to answer any questions we had, and was a great communicator outside of class. Her lectures were question based, so you learned what you wanted/needed to. If you weren't already pumped about pursuing a career in psychology, she will get you there.

Dr. Allison is an excellent teacher. I enjoyed her style of lecturing and thought the amount of depth she went into for each topic was perfect. I learned a lot from her and highly recommend her class.

She used the same definition for both social psych and sociology, I don't think she even knows the difference. She has favorites and continuously argues your comments if you aren't one of them. Heaven forbid you disagree with her! Gives quizzes with information she never even covered so you have to power skim through the book to find it.

This class was interesting, however nothing on her (online) tests is covered in class. You either have to google the answers (quickly, it's timed) or read the textbook cover to cover. She's an awesome person with a lot of knowledge and always willing to engage in discussions about the topics we studied.

Dr. Allison does not cover in class what is on the tests. She has online tests that you HAVE to cheat on to do well. It's frustrating and I will not retain anything.

Dr. Allison is a very poor teacher. She gives you notes but her quizzes and tests are over very obscure information found in the book. She makes a gen-ed very difficult and I would not recommend her at all.

She is a poor teacher that does not teach the information well. In addition to her poor teaching, she also is extraordinarily useless with her powerpoints. Sincerely would not recommend taking and I too will never take her again.

Do not let her friendliness fool you. Her class is deceptively hard. Her class work is easy and her notes are not boring but her tests have a nasty habit of biting you. She is a very nice lady and giving some personal info does not make her unprofessional. This actually is the best psychological way to gain some kind of bond. Take her classes.

No book. Just an attendance class that brought in alot of ppl in the Psych field to talk to us about the possibilities. Just a few assignments to do..very easy! And you get extra credit if you show up to workshops on campus&wrote a page paper over it. Easy A! And she was super nice&funny!

Dont take social psych. It was the worst class Ive ever taken. "Julie"....as she refers to herself is really unprofessional. She has several favorite students. She talks about her personal life too much.

Dr. Allison is not organized and procrastinates when it comes to grading. Her quizes are pretty tough although it doesnt seem like they should be but she does provide several extra credit opportunities which helped me get an easy A. She is a very nice lady though and she enjoys teaching.

She's a sociologist working in the psych department...you know it won't be good when she walks in and tells you: "I'm a sociologist and I have NO idea what this stuff is about but we'll learn together." Then she gives you essay test questions for her graduate students admits that she did wrong yet counts them towards your final grade anyway.

Psych as a proffession is a completely worthless class, but as long as you go an easy A. Dr Allison does seem to pick favorites and I was lucky enough to be one. She is a procrastinator, too. I have to take her for another class in the fall and I'm hoping it will be useful in some way because this class was not.

psych as a profession was a sort of boring class, especially for those who already knew what they wanted to do. i figured out my career path during the class, but most classes consist of guest speakers so the interest level varies by day. julie seemed pretty cool but didn't do a whole lot with the class. attendance was a big deal!
