Prof Potempa is one of the most helpful guys if you just ask him for the help. He does talk about himself but it's because he lends personal experienceinsight to what he is lecturing about. He waters the course down and you come away with what you will actually use in the real world. Opposed to some prof's who overload you wuseless info

If you have to take COMM-243 DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. He only talks about himself and his work, he is rude to students, and he makes the class miserable because all we do is read the textbook in class. Seriously, take any other professor.

I liked that the class was small, without too many students. Professor does a lot of quizes, but if you read the material, they aren't too tough. Best part of the class is that this guy actually works in the field he's teaching about!!!

I really enjoyed this class. Although there was definitely more work than should be required for just a 2 credit class. Professor Potempa definitely shares his own experiences with his students which makes class more fun and interesting. I was not looking forward to taking Public Speaking but was pleasantly surprised.

I liked this class, because we didn't happy too many quizes and the guest speakers were interesting. There is alot of course material to cover though in just one classes. Some of the lectures were interesting. Professor works in the field, which is a plus to know about what's really going on outside of the classroom. The textbook was kind of dull.

Phil is a nice guy, and he hasn't taught me a thing. The assigned text was also poorly written and uninformative. Overall a pretty terrible class, not worth taking unless it is with another prof, unless you want an easy A and don't care about how much money you wasted on tuition while not learning anything.

I really enjoyed this class, interesting lectures and really liked the video clips. There wasn't alot of homework but this instructor really grades hard on details, sometimes stuff too trivial. Attendance is important. I liked that he works in the field.

Easiest grade i got forst semester. it's great that he doesn't give out homework. i recomend him for any incomming COmm freshmen. just dont' buy his book. you only use it 1 day and then you never look at it again. save yourself the money. He does talk about himself, but you get used to it.

I can't believe he makes his students buy his COOKBOOK for both his advanced and intro classes! What's the point? This should not be allowed. This class would be better off using "Editing for Dummies". Lectures are uninteresting, but a few times were informative.

Classtime with him made me want to stab sharp objects into my head to end it all. Rambles on, talks about himself INCESSANLTY (don't buy his book, no matter what he tells you!). Easy A, but I know people who changed their major because of this class - thankfully the rest of the dept. isn't this bad.
