You choose everything for your writing, however, he wants a lot but isn't specific about what he wants. Going to the writing center is the only way to receive help, his grading is very hard, and he's hard to understand at times on what he wants.

Comment:

He has a really nice personality, and is really friendly. However, you have homework assignments that lead up to a paper without those you get a 0. He grades really hard on papers and you never really know what he expects from you in the paper until after its graded. He doesn't play about tardiness, and you get homework everyday!

Dr Gardner is a really nice guy. However, he is really tough on attendance. He gives you a few days and if you miss more than that, he drops you no matter what the reason. You will have to do a great deal of writing as well, but it is English. What was a pain was he made us do so many rough drafts before the actual paper was turned in.

Dr. Gardner is the best teacher at Francis Marion in the English department. I've taken him for 112 and again for 250. He is always bright and happy and eager to teach. His class is full of discussion and freedom to express your own opinion. Expect essays and readings, but as long as you keep up with the homework, it'll be a worthwhile to take

Best English Prof. at FMU. His lectures always go by really fast because theyre so much fun and hilarious. You do have to read a lot, so if you dont read the assignments in the book you're gonna fail his papers. But if you read and pay attention in class you'll get an A or B EASILY! Love Dr. Gardner!!

the only assignments are the exams. He gives you 3 exam questions a week b4 the test. You have to do one outline for each question. the outlines are A LOT of work and can be very time consuming. put forth a lot of effort and show him that you are trying. TAKE GOOD NOTES IN CLASS, they will help you complete the outline. use examples u heard frm him

Professor Gardner is a great man. He has a passion for teaching and will help you in any way possible. My only advise to you is come to class and actually pay attention. He is an interesting man, so you won't mind listening. He gives you exactly what you need and if you listen, you will be perfectly fine.

Great guy and great teacher. He makes reading enjoyable and really teaches you how to use critical thinking. His test weren't bad. He gave you the questions a week in advance you could prepare for it. They were very time consuming and he wasn't the easiest grader but overall, I would suggest taking him

If you want to do well in English 112, do not take it with him. Although he is nice and the work is easy, he grades horribly. I have always done well in English and passed with no lower than a B, but somehow managed to fail his class. It's a waste of time, and i already knew everything he taught.

Mr. Gardner is a great teacher. He's very energetic, very sweet, and very helpful. Every homework assignment he gives is a part of your paper, so do them. I did every assignment and basically had my paper written when it came time to write it. I recommend him to anyone taking composition english.

I didn't like Dr. Gardner's personality -- he is very bouncy and a too social -- but he is VERY smart with English. Take good notes, Pay attention, and you'll make an A like I did. The work he assigned is a major part of every essay, so don't complain about a C if you dodn't do your HW.
