Had to self-teach with the textbook the whole time.

Comment:
Although the content of the course isn't conceptually challenging, the exams are not forgiving. Rather than allowing students to show all they know about a particular section of material, performance in the class comes down to one problem. Thus strategy, luck, ability to guess Jefferson's interests, and occasionally smarts are prerequisites.

Very inconsistent with grading. Also, the old exams he provided as practice were much easier than this semester's exams.

The class was so easy and stuck to the textbook topics. There were no interesting side discussions. Don't take the class if you are really interested in the material.

He is a nice guy, but he is does not explain things that well. He is especially confusing when he talks about "the model" and he raises his voice when students don't know the answers to things we have not learned.

Comment:
Professor Jefferson is extremely organized and easy to understand. His class atmosphere is comfortable, and he knows how to handle overly-cocky students. For a sometimes-dry class, he's the professor you want if you don't want to fall asleep.

Professor Jefferson is clear, organized, and meticulously precise in his lectures, but the atmosphere in his classroom is nonetheless fun and informal. I highly recommend this econometrics class.
