I have never learned so much in a class, nor have I ever studied so much for a class. Dr. Georgel's lectures are straightforward, detailed, and current, and he will do ANYTHING to help you learn (not just pass--learn). His tests are difficult, but he offers bonus questions, and grades generously. I wish he taught every one of my classes.

His lectures were easy to understand and he never uses the book. I would highly suggest it to study for his tests, however. He gives two tests and a final, with a ton of extra credit. Sometimes the tests have one or two questions that are in a chapter we have not studied yet, but that is one of his few downfalls.

Although Georgel is usually a BSC professor, he taught FYS this semester, and he was meh. His grading is fair, his work sometimes seem irrelevant. The work in general seems irrelevant for an FYS class. Attendance is MANDATORY, you will fail if you do not show. He's down to earth for the most part, will help if you need.

If you are taking him for BSC 104, he was awesome! He understands that we were all not biology majors, so he was fairly easy on the grading. I liked him a lot, and I normally do not like my science teachers!

VERY difficult class. You will question everything you have learned. Tests are all essay. However, Dr. Georgel is an amazing professor and he will help you with anything. He even offered tutoring to reinforce lectures, which I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. When you finish, you will know your stuff. Great class. I would take it again.

Did not follow syllabus at all. Made many changes without notice. Never received any grades or feedback on assignments. Students had no idea how they were performing in class. Some were told they were doing "okay" and then received poor or failing grades. Completely unfair. Terrible class, poor instruction, avoid at all cost!

Very helpful and willing to do anything to help students. Tests are pretty tough but he explains the material VERY well. Always invited you into his office for help and will do anything to make concepts more clear. I would definitely take him for another class!

GREAT TEACHER!! Challenges your intellectual ability in a different way and stimulates your brain. Very intelligent man and knows what her is talking about. One of the few teachers who has a genuine concern for the advancement of students' knowledge. Highly recommend. Very helpful and available.
