I really liked her in the beginning of the course and it felt like an easy class but there were times when she was a bit rude. Many students even decided to not go altogether one day because of how disrespectful she was to a classmate. I doubt she noticed. Her behavior made me cry at times. The class itself isn't very hard if you do the work.

Betz's class made me improve as a writer. However, you must work hard for a good grade. She has a dry sense of humor, which I love. Do not take her if you want an easy A or to slack off on your papers. She will always look at drafts and is very helpful.

She is a very great professor. I know there are so many people complain about her, but she is completely great. She is kinda old so she is being hard sometimes. Her lessons are understandable. Just go to class and you will definitely pass this course. She helps with proof - read your paper before you hand it in. Remember to come on time!!!

This course is graded solely on 4 papers and attendance/participation. The assignments for the paper are hard to understand since she is writes very elaborate things that confuses you but she is more than happy to explain what she wants if asked. She doesn't pick on students like other professors do, lets you contribute if you wish or stay quiet.

I love Betz, she keeps it 100. I like her character because she knows what to expect from students and nothing out of the ordinary. She is not that hard of a professor I would say she is fair. The attendance sheet is passed around every class, there are a couple quizzes which are not that hard. The paper was not that hard either, semi-easy class.

I have had Phyllis four times and I only have positive things to say about her. She is very thorough and expects a lot out of her papers, but she is willing to read complete drafts and helps pick paper topics. She gives great feedback on drafts and that helps your grade. People who complain just do not bother getting help or showing up.

I liked Dr. Betz, she is is pretty funny with some of her random sarcastic remarks. Her assignment sheets are tough to understand what she expects but ask her and send your paper to her beforehand and she will help you. The class has no tests, no final. Just 6 papers throughout the course. She does not really teach but she does show you what to do.

Extremely helpful and super nice. Papers are easy and there are very few quizzes. You can get through the class, even without reading the assigned readings. She will proofread your papers and offer back helpful feedback. Little work is required to pass! However, only allows two absences and cannot be more than 10 minutes late

Dr. Betz is really awesome. She lets you write what you want about in her papers, and is really broad in her assignments. She is extremely helpful because she lets you email her your paper beforehand and shell critique it. Shes kind of out there (look her up on amazon) but is great if you want a good grade!

Class is very simple, mostly lecture. But, she will call you out during discussions, so be prepared. Very knowledgeable about writing, but also not pompous about her skills. Gives good advice and is always available for helping students. I can't understand how anyone would fail her class. Also, super liberal, which is wonderful.

Should get at least a B if you send her your rough drafts ahead of time. She marks your drafts and has you change it to how she wants it so when you hand it in you get a good grade. You have to go to class because she takes attendance but you dont do anything in class so its easy. No tests and she lets you out early sometimes

Dr. Betz is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to writing, for she herself is a published author. I had her for FYO and English 108 this year and while she tends to keep a tough demeanor, we all came to know her on a semi-personal level. She is a tough grader but utilize the fact that she allows you to turn your papers in early to be correct.
