Comment:

Okay professor. Not as well-informed about the subject matter as I would have liked (generally knew the philosophy but was badly informed about the historical context), but she was nice, encouraged class participation, and graded easily. Would recommend to anyone looking for an easy class with some interesting readings.

Unfortunately a boring and unengaging class despite the awesome subject matter. Prof Mack doesn't accept interpretations other than her own (went into the class expecting critical feminist analysis but got none). Study a few hours the day before for the exams and you'll do well.

I took her for the enlightenment seminar bc I loved her witchcraft class. not the most organized, but very interesting professor and great discussions. I think she is easy, I dont even think she read our final papers, she didnt give them back or give feedback, I just got my A which works for me i guess. really enjoy going to all of her classes tho!

Class doesn't require much effort but it's not necessarily an easy A (lots of people get in the B range). Lectures are extremely boring and pretty pointless. Don't waste your money on the books. Class consists of one exam, one vampire paper, and a final take-home essay. Overall, not too bad.

Though the class was easy overall, Mack proved to be a completely ineffective professor. When students would try to ask her questions after class, she would bolt for the door. She is unresponsive to emails, and is unclear about the assignments. She also does not use any technology to reach out to students , such as a mic or sakai.

She is the best around. Took both histwitch and jewwoman just because she taught them. She is a lovely person who will go out of her way to accomidate students. THE BEST.

Lectures can be a bit boring at times, but it wasn't bad overall. First midterm is based off of ID's + Essay. Second is on the figure of the vampire. The final is take home in which you write two essays. If you have Manning as your TA, she's a really easy grader.

Just had this class and loved it! we had NO pop quizzes and no assignements other than the midterm, final, and vampire inclass essay. she is an amazing teacher and i thought an easy grader. didnt get anything below 95 on my assignments. my fav class

I'm in her history of witchcraft class this semester and she has yet to give a pop quiz. If you're taking this class to read Harry Potter and Twilight, this is not the class for you but it is VERY cool and not at all difficult. She's a very neat lady with a lot to teach.

Class seemed very interesting but it becomes the most annoying thing ever. The lady gives pop quizzes all the time, so you have to read like the 15-25 page readings she assigns because you will be quizzed on the littlest thing. There are alot of papers which are single spaced. Lady is alright but class is very hard and definitely not an easy A.

All I can say is WOW. What a piece of work this can be. Prepare to take lots of pop quizzes. Getting a C+ in her class really was the topping on the cake. I rather retake Organic Chemistry than take this class again. Please avoid her by all means.

I have been waiting semesters to finally take this class, but once I got it I was very disappointed (This is coming from a person who has a 3.5 gpa). Her lectures can be a bit uncomprehensive and irritating because she likes to go off the topic and talk about her problems.Also papers can be very long (they are also single spaced). Please avoid her.

Please whatever you do, do not take this class. Professor Mack may seem like a nice lady at first, but in the long run it gets pretty annoying when she starts giving pop quizzes and goes out in tangents. Final essay is 30 pages long. If you have prior interest to dracula or witchcraft, that interest will quickly fade. Highly Not Recommended

Sweet person but she didn't teach the subject of the class AT ALL! The class was mostly Jew/Hist which she skews so that some of it does not even make sense (I went to Jew day school). There is a lot of writing/reading and if you do not write exactly what she wants on her exams, you will not do well. Basically spit back all the info or else...

By far my favorite class ever taken at Rutgers. Mack is a kind and interesting older lady who presents already interesting material in an intriguing way. You need to go to class to do well. Not an easy A, but I got a B+ and still highly recommend it. Counts for 2 SAS requirements. 2 in-class exams, take-home final essays.

Constantly puts her own opinion into the history, skewing any and all real history this class could have contained. This is not a class on Jewish women as much as it is a class on calling Jews primitive. If you care about the subject matter, don't take this class. If you want an easy A and don't care if someone drills holes into your mind, have fun

This was my favorite class this semester. Midterm consists of writing short answers (1-2 pages in blue book), and an essay. Second exam is on the image of the vampire. Watch 4 vampire movies and read dracula for it. Take home final. Not an easy A but def a great teacher who makes the material very interesting.

She's so sweet and really smart. Witchcraft and Magic could easily be turned into a really boring class, but it's probably one of the most interesting classes I've taken so far.Only book you really need is Dracula.If you go to class and take notes, the midterm will be easy. Easy term paper. And the final was a paper on Dracula.

Great Class. If you are a non-history major, or a history major it is a great class. Very interesting. Go to class, it will help when it's time to study or write the term paper. The only book you really need is Dracula.
