Dr. Balsara is a great professor. His home works are much more difficult than any question you get on a test, and it takes hours to complete. Make us think creatively to solve problems. If you do well on home work then this tests should be a breeze.

Comment:
This class is very hard, no way around that, but Balsara is there for you. His slides do not cover everything, so show up to class since he covers things not on his slides or the book. Homeworks are really hard, but if you know how to do them you should be fine on the tests. Grading is based on class average. Final is cumulative but open-resourse

His lectures are good and on ppt. He is the only professor I had that asked us to design and think creatively almost every class. His notes miss some key details, so show up. Homework is extremely difficult, but it makes the tests seem easy-ish by comparison. He's extremely well-respected. You want him in your network, and on your side.

Good Prof, some concepts are tricky but he is very helpful. No one can say ill about him. But pay attention in class, because not all concepts are in the book. He even helped us with verilog coding lab which he doesnt have to do. All you have to do on the exam is THINK! (famous quote of his)

He can be extremely difficult to comprehend. Mostly all the times. Prep for classes before hand is MANDATORY! That pays off well in the end. He knows what he's teaching. Though it is a lil high level.

Homeworks are not worth much but they are very hard and if u are able to do them, that'll help you prepare for the exams. He is not an easy grader and the exams can be tricky,he is funny and pretty easy to understand but he goes thru the material very fast,so pay attention and take notes.final is open note and open laptop but it wont help u much

Easy class, great prof, and the tests are even easier - they only covered the very basics and if you could do the homework they were a breeze. His homework is really hard, but teaches you what you need to know to get an easy A on the tests. He is really a fun guy and class is always interesting. I would recommend Poras to anyone.

Knows alot about the subject, but lecture so darn fast I'm not sure that many of his students learn very much from the class. The projects and homework are helpfull. I watched a webcast from UC Berkeley that helped www.webcast.berkeley.edu/courses

Hard class, but straightforward - I liked the teacher a lot. You will learn a lot in this class. Final was cumulative, but open book/notes. Kind of an inside joke though, since if you can't do it coming into the final notes won't help.
