This class is not set up for you to succeed aside from him curving. There are no examples, no practice and his lectures don't follow any guideline or criteria. Great, intelligent professor. But this class will be the end of me.

Learned a lot in the course but found the multiple choice questions on the test to be very vague, and for that my grade suffered. If you don't have a basic understanding of the macro environment, I wouldn't recommend. Test is not from book.

The class is basically for people who love finance and want to continue learning about it post undergrad. He's probably the smartest guy in the business department I had the chance work with him in a research group outside of class even after the semester ended. Class goes for 25 min talking about the WSJ and how current events have impact on FIN.

Excellent teacher. Difficult material especially 2nd half of course that can make your head spin. Textbook is good, no powerpoints uploaded so show up to a lot of lectures. Group project in 2nd part of semester. Only negative is he isn't specific in instructions often.

I am just writing a review on Dr. R from my Spring 2015' class. I took him my last semester at UCF, and boy was I glad I did. This man is hands down THE smartest man at UCF. He wrote algorithms to HFT from his Dell laptop. If you put the time into the class and ACTUALLY care to learn you will pass. I found out I passed while I was about to walk :)

Dr. R is the best finance professor at UCF. Take the buggas class or you'll be royally screwed. Easy A. Just make sure you come to class, participate, and write good notes.

My favorite professor at UCF. Class does run a little late sometimes and he does talk the whole time non stop but his information will help you succeed in the workplace after college. I've taken him for both of his classes and haven't been disappointed but do not expect an easy A in Derivatives.

Terrible teacher. Makes you pay $40 for a clicker just for attendance, never posts grades, he ALWAYS ALWAYS ends class 10 mins AFTER the actual class making me late for my other class and he acts as if his class is the only one that matters, boring and not direct on what will be on tests. Basically don't take him.

Never hated a class more. He was very vague about what was on the final exam. He doesn't grade 12 of our assignments until the day grades are due so you have no idea what to expect. Also, VERY boring.

This dude Dr. R is a finance beast. He is bulking on option trading strategies, curling stock options, and benching future contracts!! Professor is a genius, but the problem is he thinks everybody else in the class is bulking on derivatives too. He is unclear on much of the material he goes over but if you try you should get a B. Class is boring af

Do you actually want to learn something at UCF or just skip by classes then graduate and have absolutely no clue what you are doing? TAKE Dr.R's class, yes it's set up different than how most of the finance classes are (You actually are expected to contribute to conversations.. he will call you out) But actually LEARN something extremely useful.

The best professor I had at UCF by far. I learned more in this class than I did in any other class by FAR. It is pretty challenging but if you study the practice test and put in an hour or two of studying a day you will definitely pass.

Dr. R's class has been by far the most I've actually learned in Finance from UCF. The Finance department is full of awful professors but Dr. R isn't one of them. The class is difficult, but if you read the WSJ and go to his review sessions your bound to get at least a B. Paying attention in class is pretty important so stay focused, you'll do well.

Dr. R is a great instructor and you will definitely learn a lot but his tests are another story.... his courses are extremely unfair. Two tests only because "I don't have time to grade much". They are both multiple choice, 20 questions. Al ot of people failed this course. He is not afraid to drop you from the program. BEWARE.
