I had Dr. Karr years ago for Heat Transfer. Listen to what he says in class, do the homework, study, and you'll do fine. No tricks. No surprises. Pretty straightforward. I'd take him again if he taught anything else.

The only point in attending class is to take the quizzes. The quizzes are open book. Find an example similar to your problem and plug your numbers in. Do the same thing on the tests. Solutions manual for the homework is necessary if you're going to do it at all (only counts 5%). He's too old to be teaching and has no interest in his students.

This man is the third worst prof I've ever had while at UAH, and that's saying alot considering he's not foreign. Tests are retarded, homework is just as bad, and quizzes aren't any better. My advice would be to stay away if you can, or to buy him some beer, he likes his beer.

Class is super boring and almost useless. Homework and tests came from the book and are similar to the examples. He doesnt know much about the class material because if a question is asked he can only refer to the examples in the book to answer the question, which students can do themselves.

Karr knows his stuff. The classes seem hard because the subjects are hard. He is genuinely a good teacher who makes sure graduating engineers are capable of designing instead of just passing them. He was a hard teacher, but any good one is.
